Driver or Passenger Seat Back Cushion Cover and Pad Replacement Except HSV Maloo

Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in the Preface section.

1. Disconnect the battery negative cable from the battery. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
2. Remove the front seat. Refer to Front Seat Replacement - Bucket .
3. Remove the lumbar support knob assembly. Refer to Lumbar Support Knob Replacement .
4. Remove the seat back assembly. Refer to Front Seat Back Replacement .
5. Remove the head restraints. Refer to Front Seat Head Restraint Replacement .
6. Remove the seat back trim. Refer to Front Seat Back Trim Replacement .
7. Remove the front seat back cushion latch release cable. Refer to Front Seat Back Cushion Latch Release Cable Replacement .
8. Remove the head restraint guides. Refer to Front Seat Head Restraint Guide Replacement .



9. Disengage the J-strips (1) away from the front seat back frame (3).
10. Lift the front seat back cushion pad and cover assembly (2) up and away from the front seat back frame (3).
11. Place the front seat back cushion pad and cover assembly (2) on a clean and suitable work surface.



12. Fold the lower corners of the front seat back cushion cover (1) over the front seat back cushion pad (2).




Important: Care should be taken when removing the front seat back cushion cover (1) over the front seat back cushion pad (2) not to tear the front seat back cushion cover (1) or front seat back cushion pad (2) on the front seat back frame.

13. While holding the front seat back cushion pad (2) pull the rear corners of the front seat back cushion cover (1) forward and away from the front seat back cushion pad (2) to disengage the hook and loop strips (3).
14. Pull the front seat back cushion cover (1) up and over the forward edge of the front seat back cushion pad (2).
15. Remove the front seat back cushion cover (1).

1. With the front seat back cushion cover (1) folded at the central horizontal strip of the hook and loop (2), align the centre mark (4) on the front seat back cushion pad (3).
2. Press the front seat back cushion cover (1) in the corresponding groove in the front seat back cushion pad (3) to engage the hook and loop (2).



3. With the front seat back cushion cover (1) folded at the two vertical strips of the hook and loop (2), press the front seat back cushion cover (1) firmly into the corresponding grooves in the front seat back cushion pad (3).



4. Roll the upper corners of the front seat back cushion cover (1) over the front seat back cushion pad (4).
5. Roll the sides of the front seat back cushion cover (2) over the front seat back cushion pad (4).
6. Roll the lower corners of the front seat back cushion cover (3) over the front seat back cushion pad (4).
7. Firmly run your finger in the front seat back cushion channels, to make sure of a correct fitting.



8. Install the front seat back cushion pad and cover assembly (2) over from the front seat back frame (3).
9. Engage the J-strips (1) onto the front seat back frame (3).
10. Install the head restraint guides. Refer to Front Seat Head Restraint Guide Replacement .
11. Install the front seat back cushion latch release cable. Refer to Front Seat Back Cushion Latch Release Cable Replacement .
12. Install the seat back trim. Refer to Front Seat Back Trim Replacement .
13. Install the head restraints. Refer to Front Seat Head Restraint Replacement .
14. Install the seat back assembly. Refer to Front Seat Back Replacement .
15. Install the lumbar support knob assembly. Refer to Lumbar Support Knob Replacement .
16. Install the front seat. Refer to Front Seat Replacement - Bucket .
17. Connect the battery ground cable to the battery. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
18. Test the seat for correct mechanical and electrical operation.

Driver or Passenger Seat Back Cushion Cover and Pad Replacement HSV Maloo

Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in the Preface section.




1. Disconnect the battery ground cable from the battery. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection.
2. Remove the front seat. Refer to Front Seat Replacement - Bucket.
3. Remove seat-back frame assembly. Refer to Front Seat Back Frame Replacement.
4. Remove the dump latch assembly. Refer to Front Seat Back Cushion Latch Release Cable Replacement.
5. Disengage the front and side J-strips (2) away from the seat adjuster (3).
6. Lift the cover and pad assembly away from the seat frame and then release the J-strip (2).
7. Remove the pad and cover assembly (1).
8. Place pad and cover assembly on a clean and suitable work surface.



9. Fold the rear corners of the seat cushion cover (1) over the seat cushion pad (2).



10. While holding the front seat cushion pad (1) pull the rear corners of the front seat cushion cover (2) forward and away from the pad to disengage the hook and loop strips (3).
11. Pull the cover up and over the forward edge of the pad.
12. Remove the seat cushion cover.

1. Align either the outer hook and loop strips (1) and the one or two cross hook and loop strips (2) on the front seat cushion cover (3) with the front seat cushion cover pad (4).
2. Press the folded edge of the seat cushion cover firmly into the corresponding groove in the pad to engage the hook and loop strip.



3. Align and press the outer hook and loop strip (1) on the cover (2) with the corresponding groove on the pad (3).



4. Roll the front corners of the seat cover over the pad.
5. Roll the sides of the seat cover over the pad.
6. Roll the rear corners of the seat cover over the pad.
7. Firmly run your finger in the seat cushion channels, to ensure a correct fitting.
8. Place seat the seat cover and pad onto the seat cushion frame.



9. Install the seat cushion (1) onto the seat adjuster assembly (3).
10. Engage the J-strips (2) onto the seat adjuster assembly (3)
11. Install the dump latch assembly. Refer to Front Seat Back Cushion Latch Release Cable Replacement.
12. Install the seat-back frame assembly. Refer to Front Seat Back Frame Replacement.
13. Install the front seat. Refer to Front Seat Replacement - Bucket.
14. Connect the battery ground cable to the battery. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
15. Test seat for correct mechanical and electrical operation.
