Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the exhaust manifold. Refer to Exhaust Manifold Replacement.
  2. Remove the oil pan. Refer to Oil Pan Replacement.
  3. Remove the generator. Refer to Generator Replacement.
  4. Remove the timing belt tensioner. Refer to Timing Belt Tensioner Replacement.
  5. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling.
  6. Remove the coolant hose from the coolant pump.
  7. Remove the 2 coolant pipes from the pump module.
  8. Remove the crankshaft sprocket. Refer to Crankshaft Sprocket Removal.

  9. Object Number: 2026848  Size: SH

    Note: Note the different screw lengths

  10. Remove the 8 bolts (2, 3).
  11. Remove the engine front cover with the included oil pump (4).
  12. Remove the gasket (1).
  13. Note: Do not damage the sealing surfaces.

  14. Clean the sealing surface.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 2026848  Size: SH
  1. Install the NEW engine cover gasket (1).
  2. Install the engine cover with the included oil pump (4).
  3. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

  4. Install the 8 engine cover bolts (2, 3) and tighten to 20 N·m (15 lb ft).
  5. Install the crankshaft sprocket. Refer to Crankshaft Sprocket Installation.
  6. Install the 2 coolant pipes from the pump module.
  7. Install the coolant hose from the coolant pump.
  8. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling.
  9. Install the timing belt tensioner. Refer to Timing Belt Tensioner Replacement.
  10. Install the generator. Refer to Generator Replacement.
  11. Install the oil pan. Refer to Oil Pan Replacement.
  12. Install the exhaust manifold. Refer to Exhaust Manifold Replacement.
