Exhaust Manifold Replacement 1.6L LXV

Removal Procedure
  1. Open the hood.
  2. Remove the flexible exhaust pipe from the exhaust manifold. Refer to Exhaust Flexible Pipe Replacement.
  3. Remove the exhaust manifold heat shield. Refer to Exhaust Manifold Heat Shield Replacement.

    4. Object Number: 2027675 Size: SH
  4. Remove the 9 exhaust manifold nuts (4).
  5. Remove the 2 exhaust manifold bolts (2).
  6. Remove the exhaust manifold (3) and gasket (1).

Installation Procedure
  1. Clean the exhaust manifold gasket surface.
  2. Install a NEW exhaust manifold gasket to the exhaust manifold.

    3. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 2027675 Size: SH
  3. Install the exhaust manifold  (3) and tighten the NEW nuts (4) to  20 N·m (15 lb ft).
  4. Install the 2 exhaust manifold bracket bolts (2) to  20 N·m (15 lb ft).
  5. Install the exhaust manifold heat shield. Refer to Exhaust Manifold Heat Shield Replacement.
  6. Install the flexible exhaust pipe from the exhaust manifold. Refer to Exhaust Flexible Pipe Replacement.
  7. Close the hood.

Preliminary Procedure

Remove the turbocharger. Refer to Turbocharger Replacement.

Exhaust Manifold Nuts (Qty: 8).

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

Tighten
33 N·m (25 lb ft)
