Front Floor Console Replacement D06

Removal Procedure

  1. Apply the parking brake.
  2. Position the transaxle shift lever to the LOW position.
  3. Remove the floor console trim plate. Refer to Console Front Trim Plate Replacement .

  4. Object Number: 326131  Size: SH
  5. Remove the floor console rear compartment mat.

  6. Object Number: 326124  Size: SH
  7. Remove the floor console rear compartment bolts.
  8. Remove the floor console bracket bolts rearward of the transaxle shift lever.

  9. Object Number: 326126  Size: SH
  10. Remove the floor console horizontal bolts near the instrument panel (IP).
  11. Remove the floor console power accessory port. Refer to Floor Console Accessory Power Receptacle Replacement .
  12. Remove the floor console lighter. Refer to Cigarette Lighter Housing Replacement - Floor Console .

  13. Object Number: 326133  Size: SH
  14. Disconnect the wiring harness from the floor console.

  15. Object Number: 689957  Size: SH
  16. Pull the floor console rearward in order to release the retainers from the IP.

  17. Object Number: 689951  Size: SH
  18. Depress the front edge of the shifter trim plate in order to pull back the floor console for removal.
  19. Remove the floor console from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 326133  Size: SH
  1. Position the floor console to the vehicle.
  2. Connect the electrical connectors to the floor console.
  3. Align the floor console over the transaxle shifter and position the floor console retainers to the IP.

  4. Object Number: 689958  Size: SH
  5. Push the floor console forward into the retainers in the IP until fully seated.

  6. Object Number: 326126  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  7. Install the floor console horizontal bolts near the IP.
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the floor console horizontal bolts to 5 N·m (44 lb in).

  9. Install the floor console bracket bolts at the rear of the transaxle shifter lever.
  10. Tighten
    Tighten the floor console bracket bolts to 5 N·m (44 lb in).

  11. Install the floor console rear compartment bolts.
  12. Tighten
    Tighten the floor console rear compartment bolts to 5 N·m (44 lb in).

  13. Install the floor console rear compartment mat.
  14. Install the floor console trim plate. Refer to Console Front Trim Plate Replacement .
  15. Install the floor console power accessory port. Refer to Floor Console Accessory Power Receptacle Replacement .
  16. Install the floor console lighter. Refer to Cigarette Lighter Housing Replacement - Floor Console .
  17. Reposition the transaxle shift lever to the PARK position.
  18. Release the parking brake.

Front Floor Console Replacement D55

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 795607  Size: SH
  1. Remove the floor console trim plate.
  2. Remove the floor console rear compartment mat.
  3. Remove the floor console rear compartment bolts.
  4. Remove the floor console nuts.
  5. Remove the horizontal bolts near the Instrument Panel (IP).
  6. Remove the floor console power accessory port. Refer to Floor Console Accessory Power Receptacle Replacement .
  7. Disconnect the wiring harness from the floor console.
  8. Pull the floor console rearward in order to release the retainers from the IP.
  9. Remove the floor console.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 795607  Size: SH
  1. Position the floor console to the vehicle.
  2. Connect the electrical connectors to the floor console.
  3. Align the floor console to the retainers at the IP.
  4. Push the floor console forward into the retainers in the IP until fully seated. Position the rear of the floor console to the floor panel studs and the console bracket.
  5. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.   6. Install the floor console horizontal bolts near the IP.
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the floor console horizontal bolts to 5 N·m (44 lb in).

    Install the floor console power accessory port.

  8. Install the floor console nuts.
  9. Tighten
    Tighten the floor console nuts to 5 N·m (44 lb in).

  10. Install the floor console rear compartment bolts.
  11. Tighten
    Tighten the floor console rear compartment bolts to 5 N·m (44 lb in).

  12. Install the floor console rear compartment mat.
  13. Install the floor console trim plate. Refer to Console Front Trim Plate Replacement .
