Generator Brace Replacement Front

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 162669  Size: SH
  1. Remove the generator front brace nut at the engine.
  2. Remove the generator front brace bolt.
  3. Remove the generator front brace.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 162669  Size: SH
  1. Install the generator front brace to the engine.
  2. Install and hand tighten the generator front brace bolt.
  3. Install and hand tighten the generator front brace nut at the engine.
  4. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  5. Tighten the generator front brace nut.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the generator front brace nut to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  7. Tighten the generator front brace bolt.
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the generator front brace bolt to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).

Generator Brace Replacement Rear

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 162669  Size: SH
  1. Remove the generator front brace. Valeo A13VI+ (K68) only. Refer to Generator Brace Replacement .
  2. Remove the generator rear brace nut.
  3. Remove the generator rear brace bolt.
  4. Remove the generator rear brace.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 162669  Size: SH
  1. Install the generator rear brace.
  2. Install and hand tighten the generator rear brace bolt.
  3. Install and hand tighten the generator rear brace nut.
  4. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure.   6. Tighten
    Valeo A13VI+ (K68) only. Tighten the generator rear brace bolt to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

    Tighten
    Delphi CS-144 (KG9) only. Tighten the generator rear brace bolt to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).

  7. Tighten the generator rear brace nut.
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the generator rear brace nut to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  9. Install the generator front brace. Valeo only. Refer to Generator Brace Replacement .
