  1. Ensure that the power mirror switch is either in the LEFT, RIGHT, or OFF position. If the switch is in between these positions, the switch may create an indeterminate state for the memory seat/mirror module. This will cause all of the memory functions to become inoperative.
  2. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
  3. Connect a fused jumper from the memory seat/mirror module diagnostic connector to ground.
  4. • You may tape the connector up into the body harness.
    • The memory seat/mirror module will beep once in order to acknowledge entrance into the mode 1 diagnostics.
    • Refer to Power Seats Circuit Description for a detailed explanation of the memory seat/mirror module diagnostic modes.
  5. Operate the DRIVER-1 and DRIVER-2 recall buttons and the MEMORY SET button on the left seat switch. (The module will beep once for each switch input received.)
  6. Any time a switch is operated and the module does not beep, the module did not receive an input from that switch.

Were there any switch operations where the memory seat/mirror module did not beep?

  1. Remove ground from the memory seat/mirror module diagnostic connector, then ground the connector again within 5 seconds.
  2. • The module will beep twice in order to acknowledge entrance in to the mode 2 diagnostics.
    • Refer to Memory Seat Operation for a detailed explanation of the memory seat/mirror module diagnostic modes.
  3. Operate the seat switch in all directions. (The module will beep once for each open or short circuit to a position sensor or any position sensor discontinuity.)
  4. Any time a switch is operated and the module beeps, the module senses a problem with the position sensor.

Were there any switch operations where the memory seat/mirror module beeped?
