Liftgate Strut Stud Replacement Liftgate Side

Important: When a suitable hold open device is being removed or installed, provide alternate support to avoid the possibility of damage to the vehicle or personal injury.

1. Install a suitable liftgate brace to the vehicle.
2. Remove the liftgate strut. Refer to Liftgate Strut Replacement.



3. Remove the liftgate strut stud (1) from the liftgate (2).

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.




1. Install the liftgate strut stud (1) to the liftgate (2).

Tighten
Tighten the stud to 22 N·m (16 lb ft).

2. Install the liftgate strut. Refer to Liftgate Strut Replacement.

3. Remove the suitable liftgate brace from the vehicle.

Liftgate Strut Stud Replacement Body Side

1. Install a suitable liftgate brace to the vehicle.
2. Remove the liftgate strut. Refer to Liftgate Strut Replacement.



3. Remove the liftgate strut stud (1) from the rear quarter panel.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.




1. Install the liftgate strut stud (1) to the rear quarter panel.

Tighten
Tighten the stud to 15 N·m (11 lb ft).

2. Install the liftgate strut. Refer to Liftgate Strut Replacement.

3. Remove the suitable liftgate brace from the vehicle.
