Pressure Relief Valve Replacement Sedan

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the rear compartment floor panel carpet. Refer to Rear Compartment Floor Panel Carpet Replacement.
  2. Remove the rear compartment side trim panel. Refer to Rear Compartment Side Trim Panel Replacement.
  3. Remove the battery. Refer to Battery Replacement.
  4. Remove the batter tray. Refer to Battery Tray Replacement.
  5. Remove the rear bumper fascia. Refer to Rear Bumper Fascia Replacement.

  6. Object Number: 1937266  Size: SH
  7. From inside the rear compartment, press the retaining tabs (1) while pushing outward in order to release the pressure relief valve (2) from the rear quarter panel.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 1937266  Size: SH
  1. Position the pressure relief valve (2) to the opening in the rear quarter panel.
  2. Press inward on the pressure relief valve until the retaining tabs (1) engage to secure the pressure relief valve (2) to the rear quarter panel.
  3. Install the rear bumper fascia. Refer to Rear Bumper Fascia Replacement.
  4. Install the battery tray. Refer to Battery Tray Replacement.
  5. Install the battery. Refer to Battery Replacement.
  6. Install the rear compartment side trim panel. Refer to Rear Compartment Side Trim Panel Replacement.
  7. Install the rear compartment floor panel carpet. Refer to Rear Compartment Floor Panel Carpet Replacement.

Pressure Relief Valve Replacement Sportwagon

Removal Procedure

  1. Open the liftgate.
  2. Important: When a suitable hold open device is being removed or installed, provide alternate support to avoid the possibility of damage to the vehicle or personal injury.

  3. Install a suitable liftgate brace to the vehicle.
  4. Remove the rear end trim finish panel. Refer to Rear End Trim Finish Panel Replacement.
  5. Remove the rear compartment floor panel carpet. Refer to Rear Compartment Floor Panel Carpet Replacement.
  6. Remove the load floor stationary panel carpet. Refer to Load Floor Stationary Panel Carpet Replacement.
  7. Remove the quarter inner trim finish panel. Refer to Quarter Inner Trim Finish Panel Replacement.
  8. Remove the rear bumper fascia. Refer to Rear Bumper Fascia Replacement.

  9. Object Number: 2087500  Size: SH
  10. From inside the rear compartment, press the retaining tabs (1) while pushing outward in order to release the pressure relief valve (2) from the rear quarter panel.

Installation Procedure

  1. Position the pressure relief valve (2) to the opening in the rear quarter panel.
  2. From outside the rear compartment, press inward on the pressure relief valve until the retaining tabs (1) engage to secure the pressure relief valve (2) to the rear quarter panel.
  3. Install the rear bumper fascia. Refer to Rear Bumper Fascia Replacement.
  4. Install the quarter inner trim finish panel. Refer to Quarter Inner Trim Finish Panel Replacement.
  5. Install the load floor stationary panel carpet. Refer to Load Floor Stationary Panel Carpet Replacement.
  6. Install the rear compartment floor panel carpet. Refer to Rear Compartment Floor Panel Carpet Replacement.
  7. Install the rear end trim finish panel. Refer to Rear End Trim Finish Panel Replacement.
  8. Important: When a suitable hold open device is being removed or installed, provide alternate support to avoid the possibility of damage to the vehicle or personal injury.

  9. Remove the suitable liftgate brace from the vehicle.
  10. Close the liftgate.
