DTC Descriptor

DTC B1011: System Disabled Over Temperature

Circuit/System Description

The internal diagnostics of the navigation module periodically test the DVD drive temperature. If the DVD drive temperature is excessive DTC B1011 will set.

Conditions for Running the DTC

The radio must detect one of the following power modes:

    • The navigation module is in the ACCESSORY, RUN, or RAP power mode.
    • The system voltage is at least 9 volts and no more than 16 volts.

Conditions for Setting the DTC

Temperature of the DVD drive increases due to continuous operation/abnormal operating circumstances.

Action Taken When the DTC Sets

The navigation system will display either of the following messages: "Temperature High" and/or "DVD drive over temperature".

Conditions for Clearing the DTC

    • The condition for setting the DTC is no longer present.
    • A history DTC clears after 50 fault-free ignition cycles.
    • The DTC can be cleared using a scan tool.

Circuit/System Testing

Note: Allow the entertainment system to cool if the ambient temperature inside the vehicle is in excess before proceeding with this diagnostic procedure.

  1. Verify that DTC B1011 is not set.
  2. If the DTC is set, replace the navigation module.
