Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 1860088  Size: SH
  1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  2. Place a drain pan or suitable container under the vehicle.
  3. Remove the transaxle oil cooler line assembly from the transaxle. Refer to Oil Cooler Hose/Pipe Replacement .

  4. Object Number: 1860092  Size: SH

    Important: Ensure that the J 45201 is fully seated into the transaxle seal bore.

  5. Insert the collet piece (2) of the J 45201 into the cooler line seal.
  6. Insert the forcing screw piece (1) of the J 45201 into the collet (2).
  7. Tighten the forcing screw (1) until snug.

  8. Object Number: 1860093  Size: SH
  9. Thread the collar piece (1) of the J 45201 onto the collet (3) until snug.

  10. Object Number: 1860094  Size: SH
  11. Turn the collar clockwise in order to remove the cooler line seal.
  12. Discard the seal.
  13. Clean the case bores for the cooler line seals.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 1860096  Size: SH
  1. Insert 2 new transaxle cooler line seals (1) into the case bore.
  2. Remove the nub from the J 41239 .
  3. Install the nub of the J 41239 on the transaxle cooler line seals.
  4. Tap the 2 new transaxle cooler line seals (1) into the case bore.

  5. Object Number: 1860088  Size: SH
  6. Install the oil cooler line assembly. Refer to Starter Motor Replacement .
  7. Lower the vehicle.
  8. Add fluid to the transaxle.
  9. Check the fluid level. Refer to Transmission Fluid Replacement .
