Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the engine oil pan. Refer to Oil Pan Replacement .

  2. Object Number: 330572  Size: SH
  3. Remove the oil pump bolt.

  4. Object Number: 330576  Size: SH
  5. Remove the oil pump.

  6. Object Number: 330578  Size: SH
  7. Inspect the pins (oil pump locator) for damage, and replace the pins if required.
  8. Clean and inspect all parts. Refer to Oil Pump Cleaning and Inspection in Engine Unit Repair.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 330578  Size: SH
  1. Inspect for properly installed pins oil pump locator.

  2. Object Number: 330576  Size: SH

    Important: Do not reuse the oil pump driveshaft retainer.

    During assembly, install a NEW oil pump driveshaft retainer.

  3. Install the oil pump.
  4. Position the oil pump onto the pins.

  5. Object Number: 330572  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  6. Install the oil pump bolt attaching the oil pump to the rear crankshaft bearing cap.
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the oil pump bolt to 90 N·m (66 lb ft).

  8. Install the oil pan. Refer to Oil Pan Replacement .
