Was the Audible Warning System Check performed?

  1. Disconnect the connector at the multifunction alarm module.
  2. Disconnect the connector C200 at the steering column.
  3. Connect a J 39200 DMM between the multifunction alarm module connector cavity C1 for the CKT 80 (LT GRN) wire and ground.

Is continuity present?

--

Go to Step 3

Locate and repair the short to ground on the CKT 80 (LT GRN) wire between the multifunction alarm module and connector C200.

Is the repair complete?

--

Go to Audible Warnings System Check

Reconnect the connector at the multifunction alarm module.

Is the alarm present?

--

Go to Step 5

Go to Step 6

Replace the multifunction alarm module.

Is the repair complete?

--

  1. Ensure that the key is not in the ignition switch and that the driver's side door is closed.
  2. Connect a J 39200 DMM between connector C200 cavity B3 for the CKT 80 (LT GRN) wire and ground.

Is continuity present?

--

Go to Step 7

Locate and repair the short to ground in the CKT 80 (LT GRN) pigtail wire in the steering column.

Is the repair complete?

--

Go to Audible Warnings System Check

Connect a J 39200 DMM between the connector C200 cavity B4 for the CKT 159 (TAN) pigtail wire and ground.

Is continuity present?

--

Go to Step 9

Go to Step 10

Locate and repair the short to ground in the CKT 159 (TAN) pigtail wire in the steering column.

Is the repair complete?

--

Go to Audible Warnings System Check

Connect a J 39200 DMM between the Key - In - Warning switch CKT 80 (LT GRN) pigtail lead and the CKT 159 (TAN) pigtail lead.

Is continuity present?

--

Go to Step 11

Go to Step 12

Replace the Key - In - Warning switch.

Is the repair complete?

--

  1. Disconnect the connector at the LF door jamb switch.
  2. Connect a J 39200 DMM between the LF door jamb switch connector cavity C for the CKT 159 (TAN) wire and ground.

Is continuity present?

--

Go to Step 13

Go to Step 14

Locate and repair the short to ground in the CKT 159 (TAN) wire between connector C200 and the LF door jamb switch.

Is the repair complete?

--

Go to Audible Warnings System Check

Replace the LF door jamb switch.

Is the repair complete?
