  1. Place the ignition switch in the RUN position.
  2. Disconnect the connector at the multi-function alarm module.
  3. Disconnect the connector at the instrument cluster.
  4. Connect an unpowered test lamp between the multi-function alarm module connector, cavity C2 for CKT 234 (YEL), and ground.

Does the test lamp light?

Repair the short to voltage in CKT 234 (YEL) between the multi-function alarm module and the instrument cluster.

Does the fasten safety belt indicator remain illuminated?

Go to Step 4

  1. Reconnect the connector at the multi-function alarm module.
  2. Connect an unpowered test lamp between the instrument cluster connector, cavity A12 for CKT 234 (YEL), and ground.

Does the test lamp light?

Replace the multi-function alarm module.

Does the fasten safety belt indicator remain illuminated?

Replace the instrument cluster.

  3. Disconnect the connector at the instrument cluster.
  4. Connect an unpowered test lamp between the following components:
  5. • The multifunction alarm module connector C1 cavity C2 for the CKT (YEL) wire
    • Ground

  1. Locate the short to voltage in the CKT 234 (YEL) wire between the following components:
  2. • The multifunction alarm module
    • The instrument cluster
  3. Repair the short to voltage in the CKT 234 (YEL) wire between the following components:
  4. • The multifunction alarm module
    • The instrument cluster

Is the repair complete?

  1. Connect the connector C1 at the multifunction alarm module.
  2. Connect an unpowered test lamp between the following components:
  3. • The instrument cluster connector cavity A12 for the CKT 234 (YEL) wire
    • Ground

Did the test lamp light?
