Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 1505838 Size: SH
  1. Remove the park brake cable. Refer to one of the following procedures:
    2. • For the left park brake cable, refer to Parking Brake Front Cable Replacement .
    • For the right park brake cable, refer to Parking Brake Rear Cable Replacement - Left Side .
  2. Remove the wheel cylinder. Refer to Wheel Cylinder Replacement .
  3. Remove the rear axle shaft. Refer to Rear Axle Shaft Replacement .
  4. Remove the backing plate bolts.
  5. Remove the backing plate.

Installation Procedure.

    Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1505838 Size: SH
  1. Position the backing plate on the rear axle housing.
  2. Install the backing plate bolts.

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 135 N·m(100 lb ft).

  3. Install the rear axle shaft. Refer to Rear Axle Shaft Replacement .
  4. Install the wheel cylinder. Refer to Wheel Cylinder Replacement .
  5. Install the park brake cable. Refer to one of the following procedures:
    6. • For the left park brake cable, refer to Parking Brake Front Cable Replacement .
    • For the right park brake cable, refer to Parking Brake Rear Cable Replacement - Left Side .
