Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 1394901  Size: SH
  1. Remove the intake manifold cover. Refer to Intake Manifold Cover Replacement .
  2. Remove the air cleaner outlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement .
  3. Important: It is not necessary to completely remove the PCV hose/pipe from the engine when removing the air intake pipe.

  4. Remove the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) hose/pipe from the air intake pipe. Refer to Positive Crankcase Ventilation Hose/Pipe/Tube Replacement .
  5. Disconnect the turbocharger electrical connector. Lift the metal retainer, in order to disconnect.
  6. Remove the engine wire harness clamp bolt and reposition.
  7. Important: The clamp for the air intake pipe uses reverse threads.

  8. Loosen the air intake pipe to turbocharger clamp (1).
  9. Remove the air intake pipe (2) from the turbocharger.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 1394901  Size: SH
  1. Clean the mating surfaces on the air intake pipe (2) and the turbocharger.
  2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  3. Align the air intake pipe (2) to the turbocharger.
  4. Important: The clamp for the air intake pipe uses reverse threads.

  5. Tighten the air intake pipe to turbocharger clamp (1).
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the clamp to 4.6 N·m (41 lb in).

  7. Install the engine wire harness clamp bolt.
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  9. Connect the turbocharger electrical connector.
  10. Install the PCV hose/pipe. Refer to Positive Crankcase Ventilation Hose/Pipe/Tube Replacement .
  11. Install the air cleaner outlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement .
  12. Install the intake manifold cover. Refer to Intake Manifold Cover Replacement .
