Discharge Hose Replacement LR4, LM7, LQ4, L18 w/Denso

Tools Required

J 39400-A Halogen Leak Detector

Removal Procedure

  1. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .

  2. Object Number: 628247  Size: SH
  3. Remove the discharge hose mounting bolt (2) from the A/C compressor.
  4. Remove the discharge hose (1) from the A/C compressor.
  5. Remove the upper radiator baffle. Refer to Radiator Air Baffle Assemblies and Deflectors in Engine Cooling.

  6. Object Number: 363062  Size: SH
  7. Remove the discharge hose nut from the condenser.
  8. Remove the discharge hose from the condenser.
  9. Disconnect the electrical connector from the A/C recirculation switch.
  10. Remove the discharge hose from the vehicle.
  11. Discard all of the used sealing washers. Cap the system openings.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 628247  Size: SH
  1. Install the discharge hose (1) to the vehicle.
  2. Connect the electrical connector to the A/C recirculation switch.

  3. Object Number: 363062  Size: SH
  4. Install the discharge hose to the condenser using new sealing washers.
  5. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  6. Install the discharge hose nut to the condenser.
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the nut to 16 N·m (12 lb ft).

  8. Install the upper air baffle. Refer to Radiator Air Baffle Assemblies and Deflectors in Engine Cooling.

  9. Object Number: 628247  Size: SH
  10. Install the discharge hose (1) to the A/C compressor using new sealing washers.
  11. Install the discharge hose mounting bolt.
  12. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 16 N·m (12 lb ft).

  13. Evacuate and recharge the A/C system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
  14. Leak test the fittings of the component using the J 39400-A .

Discharge Hose Replacement LB7 w/ Denso

Tools Required

J 39400-A Halogen Leak Detector

Removal Procedure

  1. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .

  2. Object Number: 652572  Size: SH
  3. Remove the discharge hose mounting bolt (2) from the A/C compressor.
  4. Discard the bolt.

  5. Remove the discharge hose (5) from the A/C compressor.
  6. Remove the upper radiator air baffle. Refer to Radiator Air Baffle Assemblies and Deflectors in Engine Cooling.

  7. Object Number: 363062  Size: SH
  8. Remove the discharge hose nut from the condenser.
  9. Discard the nut.

  10. Remove the discharge hose from the condenser.
  11. Disconnect the A/C recirculation switch from the discharge hose.
  12. Remove the discharge hose from the vehicle.
  13. Discard all of the used sealing washers. Cap the system openings.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the discharge hose to the vehicle.
  2. Connect the A/C recirculation switch to the discharge hose.

  3. Object Number: 363062  Size: SH
  4. Install the discharge hose to the condenser using new sealing washers.

  6. Install the NEW discharge hose nut to the condenser.
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the nut to 16 N·m (12 lb ft).

  8. Install the upper radiator air baffle. Refer to Radiator Air Baffle Assemblies and Deflectors in Engine Cooling.

  9. Object Number: 652572  Size: SH
  10. Install the discharge hose (5) to the compressor using new sealing washers.
  11. Install the NEW discharge hose mounting bolt (2) to the A/C compressor.
  12. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 16 N·m (12 lb ft).

  13. Evacuate and recharge the A/C system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
  14. Leak test the fittings of the component using the J 39400-A .
