Body Side Trim Panel Replacement Envoy XUV

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the cargo mat. Refer to Cargo Mat Replacement in Body Rear End.
  2. Remove the body lock pillar upper tie bar trim cover. Refer to Body Lock Pillar Upper Tie Bar Trim Cover Replacement - Cargo Compartment .
  3. Remove the rear floor front trim plate. Refer to Rear Floor Front Trim Plate Replacement .

  4. Object Number: 1244994  Size: SH
  5. Remove the cargo tie down loops and the cargo tie down blanks.
  6. Remove the cargo lamp. Refer to Cargo Lamp Replacement in Lighting Systems.
  7. Remove the endgate window emergency switch, if equipped. Refer to Endgate Window Interior Emergency Switch Replacement in Body Rear End.

  8. Object Number: 1236692  Size: SH
  9. Remove the auxiliary power outlet from the trim panel, if equipped. Refer to 12-Volt Accessory Power Receptacle Replacement in Power Outlets.
  10. Remove the body side trim panel from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the auxiliary power outlet to the trim panel, if equipped. Refer to 12-Volt Accessory Power Receptacle Replacement in Power Outlets.
  2. Install the cargo lamp. Refer to Cargo Lamp Replacement in Lighting Systems.
  3. Install the endgate window emergency switch, if equipped. Refer to Endgate Window Interior Emergency Switch Replacement in Body Rear End.
  4. Install the body side trim panel in the vehicle.

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  6. Install the cargo tie down loops and the cargo tie down blanks.
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the cargo tie down loop bolt to 35 N·m (26 lb ft).

  8. Install the rear floor front trim plate. Refer to Rear Floor Front Trim Plate Replacement .
  9. Install the body lock pillar upper tie bar trim cover. Refer to Body Lock Pillar Upper Tie Bar Trim Cover Replacement - Cargo Compartment .
  10. Install the cargo mat. Refer to Cargo Mat Replacement in Body Rear End.
