Driver or Passenger Seat Back Cushion Cover and Pad Replacement Tahoe with HP2

Preliminary Procedures

  1. Remove the front seat. Refer to Front Seat Replacement - Bucket.
  2. Remove the front seat back finish panel. Refer to Driver or Passenger Seat Back Cushion Finish Panel Replacement.
  3. Remove the front seat cushion outer trim panel. Refer to Front Seat Cushion Outer Trim Panel Replacement.
  4. Remove the front seat cushion inner trim panel. Refer to Front Seat Cushion Inner Trim Panel Replacement.
  5. Remove the front seat head restraint. Refer to Front Seat Head Restraint Replacement.
  6. Remove lumbar cable if equipped.

Front Seat Back Cushion Cover

Procedure

  1. Disengage the j-channel retainers from the seat back cushion frame.
  2. Remove the hog rings.
  3. Tilt the seat back forward to make it easier to remove and install the cover.
  4. Disconnect the electrical connectors that attach to the seat back cushion, if equipped.
  5. Remove the seat back cushion cover and pad from the seat cushion frame as an assembly.
  6. Pull the cover away from the pad to disengage the retainers.

Front Seat Back Cushion Pad

Preliminary Procedures

  1. Remove the front seat. Refer to Front Seat Replacement - Bucket.
  2. Remove the front seat back panel. Refer to Driver or Passenger Seat Back Cushion Finish Panel Replacement.
  3. Remove the front seat lumbar actuator knob, if equipped. Refer to Driver Seat Lumbar Support Actuator Knob Replacement.
  4. Remove the front seat adjuster outer finish cover. Refer to Front Seat Cushion Outer Trim Panel Replacement.

Front Seat Adjuster Inner Finish Cover

Refer to Front Seat Cushion Inner Trim Panel Replacement.

Front Seat Back Cushion Finish Panel

Procedure

Using a nylon flat-bladed tool push the tabs in on the side of the panel to release from the seat back to remove.

Front Seat Head Restraint Assembly

Procedure

  1. Depress the button on the inboard head restraint guide to raise the head restraint to the full up position.
  2. Insert a small diameter tool into the hole on the inboard side of the outboard head restraint guide and pull upward to remove.

Front Seat Head Restraint Guide (Qty: 2)

Procedure

Squeeze the bottom of the guide together and push up to remove from the seat back.

Seat Back Cushion Cover

Procedure

  1. Disengage the j-channel retainers from the seat back cushion frame.
  2. Remove the rear seat recliner to seat cushion frame bolt on each side and tilt the seat back forward to make it easier to remove and install the cover.
  3. Disconnect the blower from the seat back cushion pad, if equipped.
  4. Remove the air duct, if equipped.
  5. Disconnect the electrical connectors that attach to the seat back cushion, if equipped.
  6. Remove the seat back cushion cover and pad from the seat cushion frame as an assembly.
  7. Pull the cover away from the pad to disengage the retainers
