Engine Mount Replacement Right Engine Mount

Removal Procedure

Tools Required

    • J 28467-A Universal Support Fixture
    • J 28467-89 Engine Support Fixture Adapters (Metro)

    Object Number: 177799  Size: SH
  1. Use a J 28467-A with a J 28467-89 in order to support the engine. Refer to Engine Support Fixture in Engine Mechanical.
  2. Remove the two right engine mount-to-mounting bracket bolts.
  3. Remove the right engine mount through-bolt and the mount (5) from the mounting bracket (4).
  4. Remove the three mounting bracket bolts and the right mounting bracket (4) from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

Tools Required

    • J 28467-A Universal Support Fixture
    • J 28467-89 Engine Support Fixture Adapters (Metro)

  1. Install the right mounting bracket (4) to the vehicle.
  2. Secure the mounting bracket (4) with the three mounting bracket bolts. Do not tighten fully.
  3. Install the right engine mount (5) and through-bolt to the mounting bracket (4).
  4. Secure the right engine mount with the two right engine mount-to-mounting bracket bolts.
  5. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  6. Tighten the fasteners.
  7. Tighten

        • Tighten the mount bolt to 55 N·m (41 lb ft).
        • Tighten the right engine mount-to-mounting bracket bolts to 55 N·m (41 lb ft).
        • Tighten the mounting bracket bolts to 55 N·m (41 lb ft).
  8. Remove the J 28467-A and the J 28467-89 .

Engine Mount Replacement Rear Engine Mount

Removal Procedure

Tools Required

    • J 28467-A Universal Support Fixture
    • J 28467-89 Engine Support Fixture Adapters (Metro)

  1. Use a J 28467-A with a J 28467-89 in order to support the engine. Refer to Engine Support Fixture in Engine Mechanical.
  2. Remove the rear engine mount through-bolt and nut from the rear engine mount.
  3. Remove the two rear engine mount-to-bulkhead bolts.
  4. Remove the rear engine mount from the upper rear mounting bracket.
  5. Remove the two retaining nuts and the upper rear mounting bracket from the lower rear mounting bracket (6).
  6. Remove the three retaining bolts and the lower bracket (6) from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the lower rear mounting bracket (6) to the vehicle.
  2. Secure the mounting bracket (6) with the three retaining bolts.
  3. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

    Tighten
    Tighten the mounting bracket retaining bolts to 55 N·m (41 lb ft).

  4. Install the upper rear mounting bracket to the lower rear mounting bracket (6).
  5. Secure the mounting brackets with the two retaining nuts. Do not tighten fully.
  6. Install the rear engine mount to the upper rear mounting bracket.
  7. Secure the rear engine mount with the two rear engine mount-to-bulkhead bolts. Do not tighten fully.
  8. Install the rear engine mount through-bolt to the rear engine mount.
  9. Secure a nut on the through-bolt.
  10. Tighten

        • The rear engine mount through-bolt and nut to 55 N·m (41 lb ft).
        • The rear engine mount-to-bulkhead bolts to 55 N·m (41 lb ft).
        • The upper rear mounting bracket retaining bolts and nuts to 55 N·m (41 lb ft).
  11. Remove the J 28467-A and the J 28467-89 .
