Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the Console Trim Plate . Refer to Front Floor Console Trim Plate Replacement or Front Floor Console Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
  2. Remove the console wiring harness.

  4. Remove the console shift control wiring harness.
  5. Remove the automatic transaxle range selector cable. Refer to Range Selector Lever Cable Replacement .
  6. Remove the park/lock cable. Refer to Park Lock Cable Replacement .
  7. Dissconnect the lightbulb and the retainer from the shifter.

  8. Object Number: 161200  Size: SH
  9. Remove the console shift control retaining nuts.
  10. Remove the console shift control assembly from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 161200  Size: SH
  1. Install the console shift control into the vehicle.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the console shift control retaining nuts.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the console shift control retaining nuts to 24 N·m (18 lb ft).

  5. Install the park/lock cable. Refer to Park Lock Cable Replacement .
  6. Install the automatic transaxle range selector cable. Refer to Range Selector Lever Cable Replacement .

  8. Install the console shift control wiring harness.
  9. Install the console wiring harness.
  10. Install the console trim plate. Refer to Front Floor Console Trim Plate Replacement or Front Floor Console Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
