  1. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  2. Verify that the power windows are inoperative.

Do the windows operate correctly?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

Go to Step 3

  1. Disconnect the driver window switch.
  2. Connect a test lamp between the ignition voltage circuit of the driver window switch connector and a ground.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 4

Connect a test lamp between the ignition voltage circuit of the driver window switch connector and the ground circuit of the driver window switch connector.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 8

Inspect for a poor connection or open in the ignition voltage circuit of the driver window switch or the Retained Accessory Power (RAP) relay controlled circuit. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Inspect for a short to ground in the ignition voltage circuit of the driver window switch or the RAP relay controlled circuit. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Go to Retained Accessory Power (RAP) Inoperative in Retained Accessory Power

Repair the poor connection or open in the ground circuit to the driver window switch. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
