Steering Column Lock Control Module Replacement Domestic Vehicles

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the knee bolster. Refer to Driver Knee Bolster Bracket Replacement .

  2. Object Number: 617895  Size: SH
  3. Disconnect the electrical connectors to the steering column module (1).
  4. Loosen the retaining screw on the steering column control module. Slide the control module out of the retaining bracket.

Installation Procedure

    Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 617895  Size: SH
  1. Install the control module (1) to the steering column and tighten the retaining screw.
  2. Tighten
    Tighten screw to 5 N·m (44 lb in).

  3. Connect the electrical connectors on the steering column control module.
  4. Install the knee bolster. Refer to Driver Knee Bolster Bracket Replacement .
  5. Program the steering column control module. Refer to Steering Column Lock Control Module Programming and Setup .

Steering Column Lock Control Module Replacement Export Vehicles

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the steering column. Refer to Steering Column Replacement.

  2. Object Number: 1824744  Size: SH
  3. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the steering column lock control module.

  4. Object Number: 1824755  Size: SH
  5. Depress the locking tabs and remove the steering column lock control module from the support bracket.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 1824755  Size: SH
  1. Install the steering column lock control module to the support bracket.

  2. Object Number: 1824744  Size: SH
  3. Connect the electrical connectors to the steering column lock control module.
  4. Install the steering column. Refer to Steering Column Replacement.
  5. Program the steering column control module. Refer to Steering Column Lock Control Module Programming and Setup .
