Verify that the Power Mirrors - Folding Inoperative concern is present.

Does the Folding Mirror System operate as described in the System Description and Operation?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections

  1. Turn OFF the ignition switch.
  2. Install a scan tool.
  3. Turn ON the ignition switch, with the engine OFF.
  4. Momentarily pressing the power mirror folding switch, observe the rear mirror folding switch parameters in Driver Door Switch Assembly data list.

Does the parameter display In or Out when momentarily pressing the fold switch, and Idle when it is not momentarily pressed?

  1. Turn OFF the ignition switch.
  2. Disconnect the door module harness connector from the door module associated with the inoperative mirror.
  3. Connect a test lamp between the extend and retract circuits at the door module pins.
  4. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  5. Observe the Mirror Fold Switch parameter in the driver door switch assembly (DDSA) data list while momentarily pressing the power mirror fold switch.

Does the test lamp illuminate each time the power mirror fold switch is momentarily pressed?

Inspect the folding mirror motor control circuits of the inoperative mirror for an open, or a short to ground. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs .

Inspect the folding mirror motor control circuits of the inoperative mirror for a short to battery voltage. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs .

Inspect for poor connections at the inoperative power mirror harness connector. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs .

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the door control module associated with the inoperative mirror. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs .

Check for poor connections at the harness connector of the DDSA. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs .

Replace the door control module associated with the inoperative mirror. Refer to Control Module References for replacement, setup and programming.

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.
