Personalization Setting

The vehicle or driver may be set up with Personalization feature. Vehicle features do not change with each driver. Specific drivers are recognized by the vehicle through the keyless entry transmitters, the memory buttons, or the driver information center (DIC), and the personalization settings for that driver are recalled.

The vehicle is equipped with personalization that allows you to program certain features to a preferred setting for up to 2 drivers. The number of programmable features varies depending on the options purchased.

On all vehicles, features such as climate control settings, radio and XM™ preset settings, exterior lighting at unlock and remote lock unlock confirmation, and language have already been programmed for your convenience. The vehicle also has an automatic door locking feature that is always on. The user cannot turn the automatic door locking feature off.

Some vehicles have additional features that can be programmed including the seat, steering column, and outside rearview mirror position.

If your vehicle is equipped with the ability to program additional personalization features, the driver's preferences are recalled by pressing any button 1 or 2 on the remote keyless entry transmitter or by selecting Driver 1 or 2 on the radio display. Some of the programmable features can only be recalled with the ignition OFF. Refer to Keyless Entry System Description and Operation , Navigation System Description and Operation , or Radio/Audio System Description and Operation .

To change the preferred feature mode, use the following operation procedures:

Entering the Personal Settings Menu

To enter the feature programming mode use the following procedure:

1. Be sure the ignition is either ON, in ACC position, or in RAP and place the transmission in PARK (P) or the vehicle speed is less than 6 mph (9 km/h).
2. Press any button on the appropriate keyless transmitter to identify yourself as Driver 1 or Driver 2.
3. Turn on the radio by pressing the power/volume knob.
4. Press the Set button on the radio panel to enter the radio main menu.
5. On the touch screen press Personalization software setting page, from which you can select Driver 1 or Driver 2, select language patterns for all the interfaces, and enter the detailed Personal Settings menu in order to setup different personal options to the individual preference.
6. On the touch screen by clicking certain feature software to activate or deactivate the feature, and if the feature is activated, a highlighted circle is present prior to the feature name. Click again to cancel this function, and the circle in the front becomes grey.

Personal Settings Menu Items

The PERSONAL SETTINGS MENU must be selected with a check mark to program the personalization features. If it is selected, the entire list of features will be available to program.

Driver Greeting

This feature allows the user to type in a customized name or greeting that will appear on the DIC display whenever the corresponding Keyless entry transmitter 1 or 2, is used or Driver 1 or Driver 2 is selected on the radio display.

If a customized name or greeting is not programmed, the system will show Driver 1 or Driver 2 to correspond with the numbers on the back of the Keyless entry transmitters. At this time, the customization and personalization features will be set to their factory default settings.

To turn the driver greeting feature on and to program a customized name or greeting, use the following procedure:

1. Enter the PERSONAL SETTINGS MENU by following the instructions listed previously under Entering the Personal Settings Menu.
2. Click the personal setting (occupant info).
3. Click the customized greeting.
4. Click the Edit.
5. Click the letters to enter until the greeting entry is complete.

The name or greeting you have edited is setup. The user can either exit the programming mode by following the instructions later in this section or program the next feature available on your vehicle by pressing the (BACK) button, located on the radio, to return to the PERSONAL SETTINGS MENU.

Keyless Entry Reminder

This feature chirps the horn three times when the driver door is closed and there is a Keyless entry transmitter left inside the vehicle. This feature is only available when the vehicle is turned off.

Programmable Mode

Before your vehicle was shipped from the factory, it was programmed to Mode 1. The mode to which the vehicle was programmed may have been changed since it left the factory.

To program the vehicle to a different mode, use the following procedure:

1. Enter the PERSONAL SETTINGS MENU by following the instructions listed previously under Entering the Personal Settings Menu.
2. Click the Lighting/Horn softkey.
3. Click the softkey, Exterior voice prompt when the key is left inside the vehicle, to activate this feature.
4. If this feature is activated, a highlighted circle will appear prior to the feature name in order to enable this feature.

This time the selected mode has been setup. You can either exit the programming mode by following the instructions later in this section or program the next feature available. Refer to Keyless Entry System Description and Operation .

REMOTE START

If this feature is equipped, it may allow the user to select the feature desired to activate simultaneously when the remote start feature is enabled. These features include the climate control system, the rear defogger and the seat temperature, if equipped. Activating these features helps provide a more comfortable vehicle upon entry. Refer to Starting System Description and Operation or Keyless Entry System Description and Operation .

Mode 1: On

Mode 2: Off

Before your vehicle was shipped from the factory, it was programmed to Mode 1. The mode to which the vehicle was programmed may have been changed since it left the factory.

To program the vehicle to a different mode, use the following procedure:

1. Enter the PERSONAL SETTINGS MENU by following the instructions listed previously under Entering the Personal Settings Menu.
2. Click the Remote Starting softkey.

If the remote starting feature is activated, a highlighted solid circle will appear before the feature name, then click the appropriate softkey to activate the following features:

A/C Control:  When the vehicle is activated via the remote starting feature, the climate control system will be engaged. The system activation will be at the same climate control setting that was last used by the driver using that keyless entry transmitter. Refer to Air Temperature Description and Operation .

Rear Window Defogging: If this feature is active, the rear defogger will engage when the vehicle is started using the remote start feature. Refer to Rear Window Defogger Description and Operation .

Seat Temperature Control: If this feature is active, the seats will be heated or cooled, if equipped, when the vehicle is started using the remote start feature. Refer to Heated/Vented Seat Description and Operation .

This time the selected mode has been setup. The user can either exit the programming mode by following the instructions later in this section or program the next feature available on your vehicle by pressing the (BACK) button, located on the radio, to return to the PERSONAL SETTINGS MENU.

Remote Recall Memory

If your vehicle has the optional memory package, you will have this feature. When this feature is turned on, you can recall any previously programmed seat position and mirror position when the unlock button on the Keyless entry transmitter is pressed.

Programmable Mode

Before your vehicle was shipped from the factory, it was programmed to Mode 2 with the exception of recall seat to driver position which is on. The mode to which the vehicle was programmed may have been changed since it left the factory.

To program the vehicle to a different mode, use the following procedure:

1. Enter the PERSONAL SETTINGS MENU by following the instructions listed previously under Entering the Personal Settings Menu.
2. Click the Driving Seat (Occupant Position) softkey.
3. Click and activate the feature, Remote recall the stored seat position.

This time the selected mode has been setup. You can either exit the programming mode or program the next feature available.

Start Button Recall

If your vehicle has the optional memory package, you will have this feature. When this feature is turned on, you can recall any previously programmed seat, mirror, and steering column position when the start button on the ignition is pressed.

Programmable Mode

Before your vehicle was shipped from the factory, it was programmed to Mode 2. The mode to which the vehicle was programmed may have been changed since it left the factory.

To program the vehicle to a different mode, use the following procedure:

1. Enter the PERSONAL SETTINGS MENU by following the instructions listed previously under Entering the Personal Settings Menu.
2. Click the Driving Seat softkey.
3. Click and activate the feature, Press START button to recall the stored seat and steering wheel position.

This time the selected mode has been setup. You can either exit the programming mode or program the next feature available.

Automatic Exit Seat

If your vehicle has the optional memory package, you will have this feature. When this feature is turned on, you can recall any previously programmed exit position for the driver seat when the vehicle is off, the shift lever is in PARK (P), and the driver door is opened. Refer to Memory Seats Description and Operation .

Programmable Mode

Before your vehicle was shipped from the factory, it was programmed to Mode 2. The mode to which the vehicle was programmed may have been changed since it left the factory.

To program the vehicle to a different mode, use the following procedure:

1. Enter the PERSONAL SETTINGS MENU by following the instructions listed previously under Entering the Personal Settings Menu.
2. Click the Driving Seat softkey.
3. Click and activate the feature, Automatic exit the recalled seat position.

This time the selected mode has been setup. You can either exit the programming mode or program the next feature available.

Automatic Exit Steering Column

If your vehicle has the optional memory package, you will have this feature. When this feature is turned on, you can recall any previously programmed exit position for the steering wheel when the vehicle is off, the shift lever is in PARK (P), and the driver door is opened. Refer to Steering Wheel and Column Description and Operation .

Programmable Mode

Before your vehicle was shipped from the factory, it was programmed to Mode 2. The mode to which the vehicle was programmed may have been changed since it left the factory.

To program the vehicle to a different mode, use the following procedure:

1. Enter the PERSONAL SETTINGS MENU by following the instructions listed previously under Entering the Personal Settings Menu.
2. Click the Driving Seat softkey.
3. Click and activate the feature, Automatic read the steering wheel angle when exit.

This time the selected mode has been setup. You can either exit the programming mode or program the next feature available.

Lights Flash at Unlock

When the keyless entry transmitter is used to unlock, the feature flashes the outside lamps. All doors must be closed for this feature to work, and the lamps will not flash if the parking lamps or headlamps are on. Refer to Keyless Entry System Description and Operation or Exterior Lighting Systems Description and Operation .

If LIGHTS FLASH AT UNLOCK is turned on and either KEYLESS FT DOOR UNLOCK or KEYLESS DOORS UNLOCK is turned on, the exterior lamps will flash when the doors are passively unlocked. See KEYLESS FT (Front) DOOR UNLOCK and KEYLESS DOORS UNLOCK later in this section for more information.

Programmable Mode

Before your vehicle was shipped from the factory, it was programmed to Mode 1. The mode to which the vehicle was programmed may have been changed since it left the factory.

To program the vehicle to a different mode, use the following procedure:

1. Enter the PERSONAL SETTINGS MENU by following the instructions listed previously under Entering the Personal Settings Menu.
2. Click the Lighting/Horn softkey.
3. Click and activate the LIGHTS FLASH AT UNLOCK feature.

This time the selected mode has been setup. You can either exit the programming mode or program the next feature available.

LIGHTS FLASH AT LOCK

This feature allows the exterior lamps to flash once when the Keyless entry transmitter is used to lock the vehicle doors. All doors must be closed for this feature to work, and the lamps will not flash if the parking lamps or headlamps are on. Refer to Keyless Entry System Description and Operation or Exterior Lighting Systems Description and Operation .

If LIGHTS FLASH AT LOCK is turned on and either KEYLESS FT DOOR UNLOCK or KEYLESS DOORS UNLOCK is turned on, the exterior lamps will flash when the doors are passively unlocked. See KEYLESS FT (Front) DOOR UNLOCK and KEYLESS DOORS UNLOCK later in this section for more information.

Programmable Mode

To program the vehicle to a different mode, use the following procedure:

1. Enter the PERSONAL SETTINGS MENU by following the instructions listed previously under Entering the Personal Settings Menu.
2. Click the Lighting/Horn softkey.
3. Click and activate the LIGHTS FLASH AT LOCK feature.

The system can automatically select this feature, or the user can combine it with Horn Chirps At Lock so that both the exterior lamps flash and the horn chirps when locking the vehicle.

Exterior Lights At Unlock

This feature turns on the exterior lamps when the Keyless entry transmitter is used to unlock the vehicle. The lamps will remain on for about 20 seconds unless a door is opened, the ignition is turned to ACC, ON or START or the Keyless entry transmitter is used to lock the vehicle. Refer to Keyless Entry System Description and Operation or Exterior Lighting Systems Description and Operation .

Programmable Mode

Before your vehicle was shipped from the factory, it was programmed to Mode 1. The mode to which the vehicle was programmed may have been changed since it left the factory.

To program the vehicle to a different mode, use the following procedure:

1. Enter the PERSONAL SETTINGS MENU by following the instructions listed previously under Entering the Personal Settings Menu.
2. Click the Lighting/Horn softkey.
3. Click and activate the EXTERIOR LIGHTS AT UNLOCK feature.

This time the selected mode has been setup. You can either exit the programming mode or program the next feature available.

HORN CHIRPS AT LOCK

This feature sounds the horn once when the remote keyless entry transmitter is used to lock the vehicle. All doors must be closed for this feature to work. Refer to Keyless Entry System Description and Operation .

Programmable Mode

Before your vehicle was shipped from the factory, it was programmed to Mode 2. The mode to which the vehicle was programmed may have been changed since it left the factory.

To program the vehicle to a different mode, use the following procedure:

1. Enter the PERSONAL SETTINGS MENU by following the instructions listed previously under Entering the Personal Settings Menu.
2. Click the Lighting/Horn softkey.
3. Click and activate the HORN CHIRPS AT LOCK feature.

When the mode is turned on, a check mark will appear next to the feature name.

TWILIGHT DELAY

This feature allows you to set the amount of time you want the exterior lamps to remain on after you exit the vehicle. Refer to Exterior Lighting Systems Description and Operation .

Programmable Mode

1. 5 seconds
2. 15 seconds
3. 30 seconds
4. 90 seconds
5. 2 minutes
6. 3 minutes
7. 4 minutes

Before your vehicle was shipped from the factory, the feature was programmed for 5 seconds. The mode to which the vehicle was programmed may have been changed since it left the factory.

To determine the mode to which the vehicle is programmed or to program the vehicle to a different mode, use one of the following procedures:

1. Enter the PERSONAL SETTINGS MENU by following the instructions listed previously under Entering the Personal Settings Menu.
2. Click the Lighting/Horn softkey.
3. Click and activate the desired time delay.

If the feature is turned off, the exterior lamps will not illuminate at all when you exit the vehicle.

DRIVER UNLOCK AT OFF

This feature allows the driver's door to automatically unlock when the ignition is turned off. Refer to Keyless Entry System Description and Operation .

Programmable Mode

Before your vehicle was shipped from the factory, it was programmed to Mode 2. The mode to which the vehicle was programmed may have been changed since it left the factory.

To program the vehicle to a different mode, use the following procedure:

1. Enter the PERSONAL SETTINGS MENU by following the instructions listed previously under Entering the Personal Settings Menu.
2. Click the LOCK/UNLOCK softkey.
3. Click the Automatic Door Unlock Switch softkey.
4. Click and activate the Driver Unlock Key Out feature.

This time the selected mode has been setup. You can either exit the programming mode or program the next feature available.

DOORS UNLOCK AT OFF

This feature allows all the door to automatically unlock when the ignition is turned off. Refer to Keyless Entry System Description and Operation .

Programmable Mode

To program the vehicle to a different mode, use the following procedure:

3. Click the Automatic Door Unlock Switch softkey.
4. Click and activate the Doors Unlock Key Out feature.

DRIVER UNLOCK IN PARK

The feature allows the driver's door to automatically unlock when the transmission is shifted into PARK (P). Refer to Keyless Entry System Description and Operation .

To program the vehicle to a different mode, use the following procedure:

2. Click the LOCK/UNLOCK softkey.
3. Click the Automatic Door Unlock Switch softkey.
4. Click and activate the Driver Unlock In Park feature.

This time the selected mode has been setup. You can either exit the programming mode or program the next feature available.

DOORS UNLOCK IN PARK

The feature allows all the doors to automatically unlock when the transmission is shifted into PARK (P). Refer to Keyless Entry System Description and Operation .

Programmable Mode

To program the vehicle to a different mode, use the following procedure:

1. Enter the PERSONAL SETTINGS MENU by following the instructions listed previously under Entering the Personal Settings Menu.
2. Click the LOCK/UNLOCK softkey.
3. Click the Automatic Door Unlock Switch softkey.
4. Click and activate the Doors Unlock In Park feature.

KEYLESS FT (Front) DOOR UNLOCK

The feature allows the appropriate front door to automatically unlock when the vehicle with locked doors is approached with a keyless entry transmitter, and the exterior door handle is pulled. Refer to Keyless Entry System Description and Operation .

Programmable Mode

Before your vehicle was shipped from the factory, it was programmed to Mode 2. The mode to which the vehicle was programmed may have been changed since it left the factory.

To program the vehicle to a different mode, use the following procedure:

1. Enter the PERSONAL SETTINGS MENU by following the instructions listed previously under Entering the Personal Settings Menu.
2. Click the LOCK/UNLOCK softkey.
3. Click the Keyless Unlock Control Switch softkey.
4. Click and activate Doors Unlock When Any One of FT Door Pulled.

This time the selected mode has been setup. You can either exit the programming mode or program the next feature available.

KEYLESS DOORS UNLOCK

The feature allows all the doors to automatically unlock when the vehicle with locked doors is approached with a keyless entry transmitter, and any one of the front door handles is pulled. Refer to Keyless Entry System Description and Operation .

Programmable Mode

Before your vehicle was shipped from the factory, it was programmed to Mode 1. The mode to which the vehicle was programmed may have been changed since it left the factory.

To program the vehicle to a different mode, use the following procedure:

1. Enter the PERSONAL SETTINGS MENU by following the instructions listed previously under Entering the Personal Settings Menu.
2. Click the LOCK/UNLOCK softkey.
3. Click the Keyless Unlock Control Switch softkey.
4. Click and activate the Doors Unlock When Any One of FT Door Pulled feature.

This time the selected mode has been setup. You can either exit the programming mode or program the next feature available.

LOCK DELAY

This feature delays the locking of the vehicle doors after a power door lock switch or the lock button on the Keyless entry transmitter is pressed. The delay occurs after the last door is closed. If the Keyless entry transmitter is left inside of the vehicle, the doors will not lock. Refer to Keyless Entry System Description and Operation .

Programmable Mode

Before your vehicle was shipped from the factory, it was programmed to Mode 1. The mode to which the vehicle was programmed may have been changed since it left the factory.

To program the vehicle to a different mode, use the following procedure:

1. Enter the PERSONAL SETTINGS MENU by following the instructions listed previously under Entering the Personal Settings Menu.
2. Click the LOCK/UNLOCK softkey.
3. Click the Doors Lock softkey.
4. Click and activate the feature, Lock delay after the last door closed and any lock command present.

This time the selected mode has been setup. You can either exit the programming mode or program the next feature available.

KEYLESS LOCK DELAY

This feature allows the doors to automatically lock when the engine is off for 10 second, the keyless entry transmitter has been removed from the interior of the vehicle, and the doors have been closed. If the Keyless entry transmitter is left inside of the vehicle, the doors will not lock. Refer to Keyless Entry System Description and Operation .

Programmable Mode

Before your vehicle was shipped from the factory, it was programmed to Mode 2. The mode to which the vehicle was programmed may have been changed since it left the factory.

To program the vehicle to a different mode, use the following procedure:

1. Enter the PERSONAL SETTINGS MENU by following the instructions listed previously under Entering the Personal Settings Menu.
2. Click the LOCK/UNLOCK softkey.
3. Click the Doors Lock softkey.
4. Click and activate the feature, Automatic lock (passive lock) shortly after the last door is closed.

This time the selected mode has been setup. You can either exit the programming mode or program the next feature available.

FRONT PASS (Passenger) WINDOW LOCK

This feature allows the user to choose whether or not to have the front passenger window deactivated as part of the window lockout button. If you want the front passenger window to be deactivated when pressing the window lock button, this feature is activated. If it is not activated, the window lock button located on the door will close the rear windows only. Refer to Power Windows Description and Operation .

Programmable Mode

Before your vehicle was shipped from the factory, it was programmed to Mode 2. The mode to which the vehicle was programmed may have been changed since it left the factory.

To program the vehicle to a different mode, use the following procedure:

1. Enter the PERSONAL SETTINGS MENU by following the instructions listed previously under Entering the Personal Settings Menu.
2. Click the personal setting (Occupant Info) softkey.
3. Click and activate the Passenger Window Deactivated feature.

CHIME VOLUME HIGH

This feature allows the user to adjust the volume level of the vehicles warning chimes. The chime volume cannot be turned off, only adjusted.

Programmable Mode

Before your vehicle was shipped from the factory, it was programmed to Mode 1. The mode to which the vehicle was programmed may have been changed since it left the factory.

To program the vehicle to a different mode, use the following procedure:

1. Enter the PERSONAL SETTINGS MENU by following the instructions listed previously under Entering the Personal Settings Menu.
2. Click the personal setting (Occupant Info) softkey.
3. Click the Normal or High softkey.

This time the selected mode has been setup. You can either exit the programming mode or program the next feature available.

SUSPENSION MODE

If the vehicle has this feature, the Sport mode and Normal mode may be available for the user to choose. Performance mode is used where road conditions or personal preference demand more control. This setting provides more Feel or response to road conditions. Touring mode is used for normal city and highway driving. This setting provides a smooth, soft ride.

Programmable Mode

Before your vehicle was shipped from the factory, it was programmed to Mode 2. The mode to which the vehicle was programmed may have been changed since it left the factory.

To program the vehicle to a different mode, use the following procedure:

1. Enter the PERSONAL SETTINGS MENU by following the instructions listed previously under Entering the Personal Settings Menu.
2. Click the personal setting (Occupant Info) softkey.
3. Click the Sport Mode or Normal Mode softkey.

This time the selected mode has been setup. The user can either exit the programming mode by following the instructions later in this section or program the next feature available on your vehicle by pressing the F6 (BACK) button, located on the radio, to return to the PERSONAL SETTINGS MENU.

Exit the Personal Settings Menu

Once you have finished making your selections, you will automatically return to the main audio screen after 15 seconds. You can also press the (BACK) button, located on the radio, to return to the main audio screen.

Drivers Personal Settings

This feature allows two different drivers (driver number 1 or driver number 2) to store and recall their own drivers seat position (including recliner and lumbar), outside mirror.

The buttons are located on the driver door, including No. 1 and No. 2 memory button and exit memory button.

Follow the following procedures to program settings to the vehicle:

1. Adjust the drivers seat, outside mirrors and steering wheel to your desired settings.
2. Press and hold Button 1 for 3 seconds.
3. You will hear two chimes to confirm that your setting has been placed in memory.

To preset the second position, repeat the above steps, but press memory button 2.

To preset the exit position, repeat the above steps, but press the exit memory button.

The mode you selected is now set, and you can program the next feature available.
