Front Seat Lumbar Support Replacement AL2

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the seat back cover. Remove the cushion. Refer to Front Seat Back Trim Replacement

  2. Object Number: 315304  Size: SH
  3. Disconnect the electrical connectors (4).
  4. In order to release the power lumbar assembly (5), open the retainers on the 4 corners.
  5. Remove the power lumbar assembly (5) from the seat back frame (2).

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 315304  Size: SH
  1. Install the power lumbar assembly (5) to the frame.
  2. In order to retain the power lumbar assembly, close the retainer clips on the 4 corners.
  3. Connect the electrical connectors (4) .
  4. Install the seat back cover. Install the cushion. Refer to Front Seat Back Trim Replacement

Removal Procedure

Important: The massaging lumbar module is not serviced separately from the massaging lumbar support.

The massaging lumbar assembly is part of the seat frame.


    Object Number: 510436  Size: SH
  1. Remove the seat back trim cover. Refer to Front Seat Back Trim Replacement .
  2. Important: Note the location and position of the massaging lumbar and heated seat wiring for the proper installation location.

  3. Disconnect the massaging lumbar and heated seat electrical connectors.
  4. Remove the seat back cover (1). Refer to Front Seat Back Cushion Cover Replacement .
  5. Remove the seat back frame. Refer to Seat Back Frame Replacement .

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the seat back frame. Refer to Seat Back Frame Replacement .
  2. Install the seat back cover (1). Refer to Front Seat Back Cushion Cover Replacement .
  3. Connect the heated seat and lumbar electrical connectors.
  4. Install the seat back trim cover. Refer to Front Seat Back Trim Replacement .
  5. Verify the operation of the massaging lumbar.

Removal Procedure

Important: The massaging lumbar assembly is not serviced separately from the seat back frame.

The massaging lumbar assembly is serviced as part of the seat back frame.

  1. With the aid of an assistant, remove the seat. Refer to Seat Replacement .

  2. Object Number: 530445  Size: SH
  3. Remove the seat back cover (3) and pad (2). Refer to Front Seat Back Cushion Cover Replacement .
  4. Important: Note the location and position of the massaging lumbar and heated seat wiring for the proper installation location.

  5. Disconnect the massaging lumbar and heated seat electrical connectors.

  7. Remove the seat back frame bolts (4) from the seat back frame (2).
  8. Carefully remove the seat back frame (2) from the seat back recliner hinge.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the seat back frame (2) to the seat back recliner hinge.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the seat back frame bolts (4).
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the seat back frame bolts to 24 N·m (18 lb ft).

  5. Carefully guide the electrical connector (3) back under the seat cushion.

  7. Install the seat back pad (2) and the cover (3) to the seat back frame. Refer to Front Seat Back Cushion Cover Replacement .
  8. With the aid of an assistant, install the seat. Refer to Seat Replacement .
