Seat Back Frame Replacement Deville

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the seat. Refer to Seat Replacement .
  2. Remove the seat back trim cover. Refer to Front Seat Back Trim Replacement .
  3. Remove the seat back cover. Refer to Front Seat Back Cushion Cover Replacement .
  4. Remove the 2 seat cushion trim panel fasteners from the front and back of the seat cushion panel.
  5. Lift upward to partially remove the trim panel
  6. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the power seat switch/lumbar switch assembly.
  7. Remove the seat cushion cover by unhooking the J-channel from the seat frame.
  8. Disconnect the electrical connectors, if equipped with heated or power lumbar seats.

  10. Remove the roll pins (3) retaining the reclining actuator to the seat back hinge.
  11. Remove the hinge bolts (2).
  12. Remove the seat frame (1) from the seat back hinge.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 315306  Size: SH
  1. Install the seat frame (1) to the seat back hinge.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the hinge bolts (2).
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the hinge bolts to 24 N·m (18 lb  ft).

  5. Install the roll pins (3) retaining the reclining actuator to the seat back hinge.
  6. Install the seat cushion cover by hooking the J-channel to the seat frame.
  7. Connect the electrical connectors, if equipped with the heated or power lumbar seats.
  8. Connect the electrical connector power seat switch.
  9. Install the seat cushion trim panel.
  10. Install the retainer into the center of the trim panel before the installation of the trim panel.
  11. Snap the center panel into the seat frame.
  12. Install the fasteners to the trim panel in order to secure the trim panel to the seat cushion.
  13. Install the seat back cover. Refer to Front Seat Back Cushion Cover Replacement .
  14. Install the seat back trim panel. Refer to Front Seat Back Trim Replacement .
  15. With the aid of an assistant, install the seat. Refer to Seat Replacement .
  16. Reposition the seat.
