Preliminary Procedures

  1. Remove the right front tire/wheel assembly. Refer to Power Steering Cooler Pipe/Hose Replacement.
  2. Remove the steering gear heat shield.

Power Steering Reservoir Inlet Hose

Procedure

  1. Remove as much power steering fluid from the remote power steering fluid reservoir as possible.
  2. Place drain pans under the vehicle as needed.
  3. Release the power steering reservoir inlet hose clamp.
  4. Disconnect the power steering reservoir inlet hose.

Power Steering Cooler Hose Retaining Clip (Qty: 2)

Tip
Use a trim panel removal tool to disengage the clips and replace them if needed.

Power Steering Cooler Hose Fitting

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

Tighten
27 N·m (20 lb ft)

Power Steering Cooler Hose

Procedure

  1. Replace the power steering cooler hose seal.
  2. After repairs, fill and bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding.

Removal Procedure
  1. Remove the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement.
  2. Place a drain pans under the vehicle as needed.
  3. Remove the right front tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation.

    4. Object Number: 294335 Size: SH
  4. Remove the power steering cooler hose from the steering gear.

    5. Object Number: 284303 Size: SH
  5. Remove the power steering cooler hose from the power steering pump.
  6. Unclip the power steering cooler hose from any front frame retainers as needed.
  7. Remove the power steering cooler hose from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure
  1. Position the power steering cooler hose to the vehicle.
  2. Clip the power steering cooler hose to any front frame retainers as needed.

    3. Object Number: 284303 Size: SH
  3. Install the power steering cooler hose to the power steering pump.

    4. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 294335 Size: SH
  4. Install the power steering cooler hose to the steering gear.

    5. Tighten
    Tighten the fitting to 27 N·m (20 lb ft).

  5. Clean any excess fluid from the vehicle and remove the drain pans.
  6. Install the right front tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation.
  7. Install the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement.
  8. Fill and bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding.
