  1. Verify that the transaxle is in the PARK position.
  2. Turn the ignition switch to the START position and hold the switch.
  3. Release the switch when the engine starts.
    • The engine cranks and starts.
    • The SECURITY indicator lamp turns ON for approximately 5 seconds, then turns OFF.

Note: If the SECURITY indicator lamp stays on or flashes after the engine starts, refer to Vehicle Theft Deterrent (VTD) System Check
