Makes 🢒 Buick 🢒 2002 🢒 Century 🢒 Engine 🢒 Engine Electrical 🢒 Instrument Panel Cluster Trim Plate Bezel Replacement

Removal Procedure
  1. Apply the park brake.
  2. Remove the steering column filler panel. Refer to Steering Column Opening Filler Replacement .
  3. Remove the accessory trim plate, if not equipped with a front floor console. Refer to Instrument Panel Accessory Trim Plate Replacement .
  4. Adjust the front floor console for access, if equipped. Refer to Front Floor Console Replacement .
  5. If equipped with column shift, adjust the shift lever to LOW.

  6. Remove the instrument panel (I/P) outer trim covers.
  7. Open the I/P compartment.
  8. Remove the filler panel from the lower section of the I/P. Refer to Instrument Panel Outer Trim Cover Replacement .

    9. Object Number: 689927 Size: SH
  9. Remove the screw from the right end of the I/P cluster trim plate.

    10. Object Number: 689931 Size: SH
  10. Release the retaining tab on the right end of the trim plate.
  11. Tilt the steering column to the lowest position.
  12. Pull the trim plate at the right edge, working towards the left slowly, in order to release the retaining clips.
  13. Remove the I/P trim plate.

Installation Procedure
  1. Position the trim plate to the I/P.
  2. Install the trim plate by pressing in at each retainer location until seated correctly.
  3. Return the steering column to the original position.

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install the screw to right end of the trim plate.

    5. Tighten
    Tighten the screw to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

  5. Install the filler panel to the lower section of the I/P. Refer to Instrument Panel Outer Trim Cover Replacement .
  6. Close the I/P compartment.

  7. Install the outer trim covers by pressing each cover into place until seated correctly.
  8. If equipped with column shift, adjust the shift lever to PARK.
  9. Install the front floor console, if equipped. Refer to Front Floor Console Replacement .
  10. Install the accessory trim plate, if not equipped with a front floor console. Refer to Instrument Panel Accessory Trim Plate Replacement .
  11. Install the steering column filler panel. Refer to Steering Column Opening Filler Replacement .
  12. Release the park brake.
