Condition

Some customers may comment that the front door glass is binding, slow, noisy or inoperative.

Cause

With the door glass in the down position, the glass may come out of the channel when the door is closed.

Correction

Install the new window guide clip. Follow the procedure below.

  1. Remove the front door trim panel. Refer to Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement in SI.
  2. Remove the water deflector. Refer to Front Side Door Water Deflector Replacement in SI.
  3. If necessary, loosen the regulator window carrier bolts, move the glass forward into the front channel and tighten.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 10 N·m (88 lb in).

  5. Install the window guide clip to the bracket on the side of the channel. The top illustration is without the clip and the bottom illustration shows the clip installed.
  6. Install the water deflector. Refer to Front Side Door Water Deflector Replacement in SI.
  7. Install the front door trim panel. Refer to Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement in SI.
