Removal Procedure

Tools Required

J 38778 Door Trim Panel and Garnish Clip Remover

  1. Remove the front door trim plate. Refer to Door Trim Plate Replacement .
  2. Remove the front door manual window regulator handle. Refer to Door Window Regulator Handle Replacement .

  3. Object Number: 319724  Size: SH
  4. Remove the armrest screws.
  5. Feed the power controls through the door, if equipped.
  6. Use J 38778 to remove the door trim panel from the door.
  7. Use J 38778 to pry the trim panel from the door frame at the window seal.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 319724  Size: SH
  1. Install the front door trim panel to the front door.
  2. Place the window seal portion of the panel over the door frame.
  3. Feed the power controls through the panel and into place, if equipped.
  4. Align the front door trim panel retainers to the holes in the door metal.
  5. Firmly press the trim panel to the door metal in order to seat the retainers.
  6. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  7. Install the armrest screws.
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 3 N·m (26 lb in).

  9. Install the front door manual window regulator handle. Refer to Door Window Regulator Handle Replacement .
  10. Install the front door trim plate. Refer to Door Trim Plate Replacement .
