DEFINITION: The lock or unlock functions do not work through one of the door lock switches. However, the other door lock switch locks and unlocks the doors.

  1. Disconnect the inoperative door lock switch electrical connector.
  2. Connect a test lamp between B+ and the inoperative door lock switch harness connector terminal E.

Does the test lamp light?

While observing the door locks, connect a 10A fuse jumper between the inoperative door lock switch harness connector terminal A and terminal E.

Do the door locks lock?

While observing the door locks, connect a 10A fuse jumper between the inoperative door lock switch harness connector terminal D and terminal E.

Do the door locks lock?

Go to Step 4

  1. Inspect for a proper connection at the inoperative door lock switch.
  2. If the connection is OK, replace the inoperative door lock switch. Refer to Front Side Door Lock Replacement or Lock Replacement - Sliding Door Front in Doors.

Repair the poor connection or the open in circuit 750.

Repair the poor connection or the open in circuit 195.

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
  2. Reinstall the connectors and components that were removed.
  3. Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
  4. Remove the BCM PRGRM fuse.
  5. Turn the ignition switch to the ACC position. (The BCM sounds the chime a number of times equivalent to the BCM type installed on the vehicle).
  6. Turn the ignition switch from the ACC position, to the LOCK position, then back to the ACC position within 1 second. (The BCM sounds any DTCs stored).
