  1. Inspect the suspected backup lamp bulbs for the following conditions:
  2. • Damage
    • An open filament
  3. Inspect the left or the right backup lamp connectors in order to ensure that the harness connector seals are not damaged or missing.

Are the backup lamps and connectors OK?

  1. Remove the inoperative backup lamp.
  2. Apply the park brake.
  3. Shift the transaxle into the REVERSE position.
  4. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.
  5. Use a test lamp in order to probe between the inoperative backup lamp connector terminal A and ground.

Did the test lamp light?

  1. Repair the following conditions in CKT 350 between the backup lamp harness connector terminal G and G401:
  2. • A poor connection
    • An open
  3. Inspect the system.

Is the repair complete?

  1. Repair the following conditions in CKT 24 between the backup lamp connector terminal A and S435:
  2. • A poor connection
    • An open
  3. Inspect the system.

Is the repair complete?

  1. Replace the damaged component.
  2. Inspect the system.
