Inspect the B/U LAMP Fuse for an open.

Is the fuse open?

  1. Disconnect the transaxle range switch connector C1.
  2. Use a test lamp in order to probe between the transaxle range switch harness connector C1 from terminal B and ground.

Did the test lamp light?

--

Go to Step 3

Connect a 15A fused jumper to the transaxle range switch harness connector C1 between terminal B and terminal F.

Did the backup lamps light?

--

Go to Step 5

Go to Step 4

  1. Repair the following conditions in CKT 24 between the transaxle range switch harness connector C1 terminal F and S435.
  2. • A poor connection
    • An open
  3. Inspect the system.

Is the repair complete?

--

System OK

  1. Adjust or replace the transaxle range switch. Refer to Park/Neutral Position Switch Replacement
  2. Inspect the system.

Is the repair complete?

System OK

  1. Repair the following conditions in CKT 840:
  2. • A poor connection
    • An open
  3. Inspect the system.

Is the repair complete?

System OK

  1. Repair a short to ground in CKT 840, as needed.
  2. Repair a short to ground in CKT 24, as needed.
  3. Inspect the system.

Is the repair complete?
