Are all door strikers adjusted properly and all doors closed securely?

Go to Step 2

Go to Front Side Door Adjustment or Sliding Rear Side Door Adjustment in Doors

  1. Close all doors securely.
  2. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.

Is the DOOR AJAR indicator on?

--

Go to Step 3

System OK

  1. Disconnect connector C203.
  2. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.

Is the DOOR AJAR indicator on?

--

Go to Step 4

Go to Step 5

  1. Check for a short to ground in circuit 804 between connector C203 terminal C6 and the instrument cluster connector C1 terminal G.
  2. If OK, replace the instrument cluster. Refer to Instrument Cluster Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.

Has the repair been made and the system rechecked?

System OK

  1. Reconnect connector C203.
  2. Disconnect connector C303.

Is the DOOR AJAR indicator on?

--

Go to Step 6

Go to Step 7

  1. Reconnect connector C303.
  2. Disconnect connector C302.

Is the DOOR AJAR indicator on?

--

Go to Step 8

Go to Step 9

Repair short to ground in circuit 804 between connector C303 terminal H and LF door lock, or defective LF door lock switch.

Has the repair been made and the system rechecked?

--

System OK

--

  1. Reconnect connector C302.
  2. Disconnect connector C402.

Is the DOOR AJAR indicator on?

--

Go to Step 10

Go to Step 11

Repair short to ground in circuit 804 between connector C302 terminal H and RF door lock, or a defective RF door lock switch.

Has the repair been made and the system rechecked?

--

System OK

--

  1. Reconnect connector C402.
  2. Disconnect RH sliding door jamb switch.

Is the DOOR AJAR indicator on?

--

Go to Step 12

Go to Step 13

Repair a short to ground in circuit 804 between connector C402 terminal E and liftgate lock, or a defective liftgate lock switch.

Has the repair been made and the system rechecked?

--

System OK

--

  1. Reconnect the RH sliding door jamb switch.
  2. Disconnect the LH sliding door jamb switch (if vehicle is so equipped).

Is the DOOR AJAR indicator on?

--

Go to Step 14

Replace the RH sliding door jamb switch. Refer to Door Jamb Switch Replacement - Sliding Door in Doors.

Has the repair been made and the system rechecked?

--

System OK

  1. Reconnect the LH sliding door jamb switch (if vehicle is so equipped).
  2. Repair short to ground in circuit 804 between connector C203 to the following connectors:
  3. • C303 terminal H.
    • C302 terminal H.
    • C402 terminal E.
    • RH sliding door jamb switch.
    • LH sliding door jamb switch.

Has the repair been made and the system rechecked?

Replace the LH sliding door jamb switch. Refer to Door Jamb Switch Replacement - Sliding Door in Doors.
