Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 300142 Size: SH
  1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System .

    2. Object Number: 82187 Size: SH
  2. Remove the upper and lower shrouds. Refer to Steering Column Shrouds - Disassemble in Steering Wheel and Column - Tilt.
  3. Remove the inflatable restraint steering wheel module. Refer to Inflatable Restraint Steering Wheel Module Replacement .
  4. Remove the steering wheel. Refer to Steering Wheel Replacement for Pontiac or Steering Wheel Replacement for Chevy/Olds in Steering Wheel and Column - Tilt.
  5. Remove the wire harness straps from the steering wheel column wire harness.
  6. Remove the retaining ring.
  7. Remove the inflatable restraint steering wheel module coil from the steering shaft.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 82187 Size: SH
  1. Install the inflatable restraint steering wheel module coil to the steering shaft.
  2. Install the retaining ring.
  3. Route the lower coil wire harness along steering column jacket.
  4. Install the wire harness straps to the steering wheel column wire harness.
  5. Install the steering wheel. Refer to Steering Wheel Replacement for Pontiac or Steering Wheel Replacement for Chevy/Olds in Steering Wheel and Column - Tilt.
  6. Install the inflatable restraint steering wheel module. Refer to Inflatable Restraint Steering Wheel Module Replacement .
  7. Install the upper and lower shrouds. Refer to Steering Column Shrouds - Disassemble in Steering Wheel and Column - Tilt.

    8. Object Number: 300142 Size: SH
  8. Enable the SIR system. Refer to Enabling the SIR System .
