Turn the ignition ON.

The charge indicator is on.

The charge indicator is off. Refer to Charge Indicator Inoperative .

Start the engine.

The charge indicator is off.

The charge indicator is on. Refer to Charge Indicator Always On .

1. Turn on all of the following electrical accessories.

•	Headlights

•

Wipers

•	HVAC Blower on High

•	Rear Defogger

2. Apply the parking brake and the regular brake.
3. Shift the transmission into Drive.
4. Allow the engine to idle.

The charge indicator is off.

The charge warning is on. Refer to Charge Indicator Always On .
