Component Name

Caution: Control module damage may result when the metal case contacts battery voltage. DO NOT contact the control module metal case with battery voltage when servicing a control module, using battery booster cables or when charging the vehicles battery.

Preliminary Procedures

  1. Disconnect the battery negative terminal. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
  2. Release the engine control module electrical connector.

Engine Control Module and Module Insulating Cover

Procedure

    • Use a screwdriver to depress the module and cover retainer.
    • Lift the module and cover upwards to remove.

Engine Control Module Insulating Cover

Procedure

    • Lift the engine control module retainer located on the Insulating cover.
    • Slide the engine control module outwards to remove.
