Preliminary Procedures

  1. Using a suitable suction device, remove the brake fluid from the master cylinder reservoir.
  2. Disconnect the brake fluid level sensor electrical connector.
  3. On manual transmission vehicles, disconnect the clutch hose from the master cylinder reservoir and cap the hose.

8 N·m (71 lb in)

Tip

    • If installing a replacement reservoir on manual transmission vehicles, twist the cap off of the master cylinder reservoir.
    • Ensure the outlet port is free debris and contamination.

Seal, Brake Master Cylinder Reservoir (Qty: 2)

Tip

    • DO NOT reuse the seals. Install new seals.
    • Lubricate the seals with clean DOT 3 motor vehicle brake fluid.
    • Fill the brake master cylinder reservoir. Refer to Master Cylinder Reservoir Filling.
