Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection.

  2. Object Number: 1804777  Size: SH
  3. Disconnect the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) hose from the air intake duct.
  4. Loosen the clamps and remove the air intake duct from the mass air flow sensor assembly and the throttle body.
  5. Disconnect the engine control module (ECM) connector.

  6. Object Number: 1760937  Size: SH
  7. Remove the ECM bracket retaining nuts.
  8. Remove the ECM with the bracket attached from the battery tray.

  9. Object Number: 1760938  Size: SH
  10. Unclip the ECM to the bracket and separate the ECM from the bracket.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 1760937  Size: SH
  1. Install the ECM into the bracket.
  2. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

  3. Install the ECM with the bracket attached to the battery tray and tighten the retaining nuts to 15 N·m (11 lb ft).

  4. Object Number: 1804777  Size: SH
  5. Connect the ECM connectors.
  6. If the ECM has been replaced, perform the ECM reprogramming and the oil remaining life reset process.

  7. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection.
