Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 1829851 Size: SH
  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
  2. Remove the drain plug (1).
  3. Remove the fill plug (2)

Installation Procedure

    Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1829851 Size: SH
  1. Install the drain plug (1).

    2. Tighten
    Tighten the drain plug (1) to 39 N·m (29 lb ft).

  2. Fill the transfer case with synthetic hypoid 75W-90 to the bottom of the fill plug hole, when the vehicle is on a level surface.
  3. Install the fill plug (2).

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the fill plug (2) to 39 N·m (29 lb ft).

  4. Lower the vehicle.
