  1. Install NEW valve rocker arm cover grommets and use NEW valve rocker arm cover bolts if they are serviced with the grommet.
  2. Important: The gasket may be reused if it is not torn, cracked, stretched, or swollen.

  3. Install the lower valve rocker arm cover.

  4. Object Number: 663902  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  5. Install the lower valve rocker arm cover screws.
  6. Tighten

        • Tighten the lower valve rocker arm cover screws in the proper sequence to 10 N·m (89 lb in).
        • Retighten the lower valve rocker arm cover screws in the proper sequence to the same torque, 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  7. Install the injector harnesses.
  8. Install the injector harness bracket bolts.
  9. Tighten
    Tighten the injector harness bracket bolts to 9 N·m (80 lb in).

  10. Install the injector harness connectors to the injectors.
  11. Tighten
    Tighten the injector terminal nuts to 2 N·m (18 lb in).
