DEFINITION: This procedure only works in Locking Control Modes 2, 3 or 4. At least two people are necessary to perform this procedure.

Was the Body Control Module Diagnostic System Check performed?

Go to Diagnostic System Check - Body Control System in Body Control System

1. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.
2. Lower completely down all vehicle windows.
3. Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
4. Open the driver's door.
5. While observing the door locks, press lock on door lock switch momentarily.
6. Close the driver's door.
7. Open the left sliding door (if equipped).
8. Press lock on door lock switch momentarily; observe the door locks.
9. Within 3 seconds, open the right front door and close the left sliding door (if equipped).
10. While observing the door locks, press lock on door lock switch momentarily.
11. Close the right front door.
12. Open the right sliding door.
13. Reaching through the right front window opening, press lock on door lock switch momentarily; observe the door locks.

Door do not lock when pressing lock on either door lock switch with the key in the ignition key lock cylinder and a door open.

Do the door locks operate as described above?

Go to Step 3

Go to Step 4

1. Open the driver's door.
2. Fully insert the key in the ignition key lock cylinder.
3. Leave the ignition switch in the LOCK position.
4. While observing the door locks, press and hold the driver's door lock switch for three seconds.
5. Unlock doors using driver's door lock switch.
6. Close the driver's door.
7. Open the right front door.
8. While observing the door locks, press lock twice on the passenger door lock switch.

All doors lock after holding lock on either door lock switch for three seconds, with the key in the ignition.

Do the door locks operate as described above?

The lockout prevention feature is malfunctioning. Refer to Power Door Locks Inoperative - Lockout Feature for the diagnosis and repair of the lockout prevention feature.

1. Inspect the BCM connectors for poor terminal contact.
2. If BCM connectors are OK, replace the BCM. Refer to Body Control Module Replacement in Body Control Systems.

Is the repair complete?

1. Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
2. Reinstall connectors/components removed.
3. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position for 6 seconds.
4. Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
5. Remove the BCM PRGRM fuse.
6. Turn the ignition switch to the ACC position. (The BCM sounds the chime a number of times equivalent to the BCM type installed on the vehicle).
7. Within one second, turn the ignition switch from the ACC position, to the LOCK position, then back to the ACC position. (The BCM sounds any DTC's stored).

Are there any BCM DTCs present?
