Was the Body Control Module (BCM) System Check performed?

  1. Remove the key from the ignition key lock cylinder.
  2. Close all of the vehicle doors.
  3. While observing the door locks, press LOCK, then press UNLOCK on the driver door lock switch.
  4. While observing the door locks, press LOCK, then press UNLOCK on the driver door lock switch.

Do all of the doors lock and unlock when using either door lock switch?

Resynchronize the transmitters:

  1. Press and hold, for at least 7 seconds, both the LOCK and the UNLOCK buttons on the keyless entry transmitter. Repeat this procedure using the other transmitter.
  2. Remove the key from the ignition key cylinder lock.
  3. Disable the power sliding door (PSD) lockout switch. This switch is located in the overhead console.
  4. Close all of the vehicle doors.
  5. While observing the door locks, press once on the LOCK button on the keyless entry transmitter.
  6. While observing the door locks, press twice on the UNLOCK button on the keyless entry transmitter.
  7. While observing the PSD, press once on the PSD open/close button (if equipped) on the keyless entry transmitter.
  8. While observing the exterior lights and while listening to the horn, press the alarm button (if equipped) on the keyless entry transmitter.

Does the keyless entry system operate the door locks and the optional alarm?

  1. Remove the transmitter batteries.
  2. Using a J 39200 digital multimeter (DMM), measure the voltage on each transmitter battery.

Is the voltage within the specified range?

3.0-3.5 V

  1. Reprogram all of the transmitters. Refer to Transmitter Programming .
  2. Remove the key from the ignition key cylinder lock.
  3. Close all of the vehicle doors.
  4. While observing the door locks, press once on the LOCK button on the keyless entry transmitter.
  5. While observing the door locks, press twice on the UNLOCK button on the keyless entry transmitter.
  6. While observing the power sliding door, press once on the PSD open/close button (if equipped) on the keyless entry transmitter.
  7. While observing the exterior lights and while listening to the horn, press the alarm button (if equipped) on the keyless entry transmitter.

Does the keyless entry system operate the door locks and the optional alarm and optional PSD?

  1. Program a known good transmitter. Refer to Transmitter Programming .
  2. Remove the key from the ignition key cylinder lock.
  3. Close all of the vehicle doors.
  4. While observing the door locks, press once on the lock button on the keyless entry transmitter.
  5. While observing the door locks, press twice on the unlock button on the keyless entry transmitter.
  6. While observing the power sliding door, press once on the PSD open/close button (if equipped) on the keyless entry transmitter.
  7. While observing the exterior lights and while listening to the horn, press the alarm button (if equipped) on the keyless entry transmitter.

Does the keyless entry system operate the door locks and the optional alarm and optional PSD?

Test the RADIO fuse. The RADIO fuse is located in the underhood accessory wiring junction block.

Is the RADIO fuse open?

  1. Replace the RADIO fuse.
  2. Test the RADIO fuse again.

  1. Disconnect the remote control door lock receiver (RCDLR).
  2. Using a test lamp, connect between the RCDLR harness connector terminal A and terminal C.

Did the test lamp light?

Using a test lamp, connect between the RCDLR harness connector terminal C and ground.

Repair a short to ground in CKT 640.

  1. Test for a poor connector terminal contact at the RCDLR.
  2. If the connection is OK, replace the RCDLR. Refer to Receiver Replacement .

Repair a poor connection or an open to CKT 1550.

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
  2. Reinstall all of the connectors/components that you removed.
  3. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position for 6 seconds.
  4. Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
  5. Remove the BCM PRGRM fuse.
  6. Turn the ignition switch to the ACC position. (The BCM sounds the chime a number of times equivalent to the BCM type installed on the vehicle).
  7. Within 1 second, turn the ignition switch from the ACC position, to the LOCK position, then back to the ACC position. (The BCM sounds any DTCs stored).

Are any BCM DTC present?
