DEFINITION: The sunshade illuminated vanity mirror lamps do not activate when the mirror cover is open and the interior lamps override switch is on (interior courtesy lights enabled).

Inspect the filament of the sunshade illuminated vanity mirror lamp bulbs.

Are any bulb filaments open?

  1. Remove the sunshade from the headliner. Refer to Sunroof Sunshade Replacement in Roof for service procedure.
  2. Turn the ignition switch from the LOCK position to the RUN position.
  3. Turn on the interior lamps override switch (interior courtesy lights enabled).
  4. Use a test lamp in order to connect between the sunshade illuminated vanity mirror harness connector terminal A and ground.

Did the test lamp light?

Use a test lamp in order to connect between the sunshade illuminated vanity mirror harness connector terminal A and terminal B.

Did the test lamp light?

Replace the sunshade illuminated vanity mirror lamp bulb(s). Refer to Vanity Mirror Lamp Replacement .

Is the repair complete?

Repair the following conditions in CKT 328:

    • A faulty connection
    • An open

Is the repair complete?

  1. Inspect the sunshade illuminated vanity mirror connector terminal and bulb terminals for a faulty connection.
  2. If the connection is OK, then replace the sunshade. Refer to Sunroof Sunshade Replacement in Roof for service procedures.
  3. Is the repair complete?

Repair the following conditions in CKT 650:

    • A faulty connection
    • An open

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
  2. Reinstall the connectors/components that were removed.
  3. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position for 6 seconds.
  4. Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
  5. Remove the BCM PRGRM fuse.
  6. Turn the ignition switch to the ACC position.
  7. The BCM sounds the chime a number of times equivalent to the BCM type installed on the vehicle.

  8. Within 1 second turn the ignition switch from the ACC position to the LOCK position, then back to the ACC position.
  9. The BCM sounds any DTCs stored.
