Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 260342  Size: SH
  1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System .
  2. Remove the front seat carpet retainer. Refer to Carpet Retainers in Seats and Carpet.
  3. Remove the upper seat belt shoulder strap nut. Refer to Seat Belts.
  4. Remove the center pillar upper trim. Refer to Center Pillar Upper Trim in Rear Quarters.
  5. Remove the center pillar lower trim. Refer to Center Pillar Lower Trim in Rear Quarters.
  6. Loosen the two inflatable restraint side impact sensor fasteners (2).

  7. Object Number: 260343  Size: SH
  8. Remove the inflatable restraint side impact sensor (3) from the B-pillar.

  9. Object Number: 260344  Size: SH
  10. Lift the Connector Position Assurance (CPA) (3) and remove the inflatable restraint side impact sensor yellow 2-way connector (2) from the inflatable restraint side impact sensor (1).

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 260344  Size: SH
  1. Connect the inflatable restraint side impact sensor yellow 2-way connector (2) to the inflatable restraint side impact sensor (1).

  2. Object Number: 260343  Size: SH
  3. Install the inflatable restraint side impact sensor (3) to the B-pillar.

  4. Object Number: 260342  Size: SH
  5. Install the fasteners to the inflatable restraint Side Impact Sensor.
  6. Tighten
    Use only hand tools to tighten the fasteners to 10 N·m (89 lb in). Refer to

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  7. Install the center pillar lower trim. Refer to Center Pillar Lower Trim in Rear Quarters.
  8. Install the center pillar upper trim. Refer to Center Pillar Upper Trim in Rear Quarters.
  9. Install the upper seat belt shoulder strap nut. Refer to Seat Belts.
  10. Install the front seat carpet retainer. Refer to Carpet Retainers in Seats and Carpet.
  11. Enable the SIR system. Refer to Enabling the SIR System .
