Are there any DTCs present?

Go to Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) List in Engine Controls

Go to Step 2

Do any of the shift select indicators illuminate properly?

Go to Step 3

Go to Step 5

Do some but not all shift select indicators illuminate properly?

Go to Step 9

Go to Step 4

Do the shift indicators change intensity when the headlamp switch is in the PARK position?

System OK

Go to Interior Lights Dimming System Check in Lighting Systems

Check the PRNDL ELEC Fuse for an open.

Is the PRNDL ELEC Fuse open?

Go to Step 6

Go to Step 7

Repair the short to ground in CKT 1020.

Has the repair been made and the system rechecked?

System OK

Disconnect the instrument cluster connector C1.
Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.
Using a J 39200 digital multimeter (DMM), measure the voltage between the instrument cluster harness connector C1 terminal K and ground.

Is the measured voltage within the specified value?

9 - 14 V

Go to Step 9

Go to Step 8

Repair a poor connection or open in CKT 1020 between the fuse block terminal H10 and the instrument cluster harness connector C1 terminal K.

Has the repair been made and the system rechecked?

System OK

Disconnect the instrument cluster connectors C1 and C2.
Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.
While slowly moving the gear selector from PARK to L and back, make the following voltage checks:

•	Connector C1 terminal J to ground (CKT 771).

•	Connector C1 terminal C to ground (CKT 772).

•	Connector C1 terminal D to ground (CKT 776).

•	Connector C2 terminal M to ground (CKT 773).

Did all voltages switch from Low to High on all terminals at some point?

Go to Step 10

Go to Step 11

Replace the instrument cluster. Refer to Instrument Cluster Replacement .

Has the repair been made and the system rechecked?

System OK

•	If CKT 771 did not switch, repair the open between connector C2 terminal J and the underhood accessory wiring junction block connector C1 terminal F12.

•	If CKT 772 did not switch, repair the open between connector C1 terminal C and the underhood accessory wiring junction block connector C1 terminal D1.

•	If CKT 776 did not switch, repair the open between connector C1 terminal D and the underhood accessory wiring junction block connector C1 terminal F1.

•	If CKT 773 did not switch, repair the open between connector C2 terminal M and the underhood accessory wiring junction block connector C1 terminal E1.

Has the repair been made and the system rechecked?

System OK
