Action

The control valve is stuck or inoperative.

  1. Clean the control valve.
  2. Inspect the control valve.
  3. Replace the control valve, as needed.

Refer to Power Steering Pump Replacement .

The pump ring is worn.

  1. Inspect the pump ring.
  2. Replace the pump ring, as needed.

Refer to Power Steering Pump Replacement .

The pressure plate is scored.

  1. Inspect the pressure plate.
  2. Replace the pressure plate, as needed.

Refer to Power Steering Pump Replacement .

The thrust plate is scored.

  1. Inspect the thrust plate.
  2. Replace the thrust plate, as needed.

Refer to Power Steering Pump Replacement .

The rotor is scored.

  1. Inspect the rotor.
  2. Replace the rotor, as needed.

The pressure plate is broken.

  1. Clean the pressure plate.
  2. Inspect the pressure plate.
  3. Replace the pressure plate, as needed.

The thrust plate is broken.

  1. Clean the thrust plate.
  2. Inspect the thrust plate.
  3. Replace the thrust plate, as needed.

Refer to Power Steering Pump Replacement .

The vanes are sticking in the rotor slots.

  1. Clean the vanes.
  2. Inspect the vanes.
  3. Replace the vanes, as needed.

Refer to Power Steering Pump Replacement .
