Action

There is air in the power steering system.

Bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding .

The steering gear bearing preload is misadjusted.

Adjust the steering gear bearing preload to specification. Refer to Steering Gear Rack Bearing Preload Adjustment - Off Vehicle .

The steering gear is loose.

Tighten the steering gear bolts to specification. Refer to Steering Gear Replacement .

The tie rod end(s) are loose.

Repair or replace the tie rod ends as necessary. Refer to Rack and Pinion Outer Tie Rod End Replacement .

The wheel bearing/hub is loose.

Repair or replace the wheel bearing/hub. Refer to Front Wheel Bearing and Hub Replacement in Front Suspension.
