Engine Mount Strut Bracket Replacement Upper Radiator Support

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 61850  Size: SH
  1. Remove the engine mount strut from the engine mount strut bracket at the upper radiator support. Refer to Engine Mount Strut Replacement .

  2. Object Number: 61851  Size: SH
  3. Remove the engine mount strut bracket bolts from the engine mount strut bracket.
  4. Remove the engine mount strut bracket from the upper radiator support.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 61851  Size: SH
  1. Position the engine mount strut bracket over the upper radiator support. Ensure that the engine mount strut bracket and the engine mount strut are aligned to the proper holes of the upper radiator support.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the engine mount strut bracket bolts to the engine mount strut bracket.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the engine mount strut bracket bolts to 28 N·m (21 lb ft).

  5. Install the engine mount strut to the engine mount strut bracket at the upper radiator support. Refer to Engine Mount Strut Replacement .

Engine Mount Strut Bracket Replacement Left Side

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 105883  Size: SH
  1. Remove the left engine mount strut from the left engine mount strut bracket. Refer to Engine Mount Strut Replacement .
  2. Remove the thermostat housing. Refer to Engine Coolant Thermostat Replacement in Engine Cooling.

  3. Object Number: 61845  Size: SH
  4. Remove the engine mount strut bracket bolts from the left engine mount strut bracket to the cylinder head.
  5. Remove the left engine mount strut bracket.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the left engine mount strut bracket.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.   3. Install the engine mount strut bracket bolts through the engine mount strut bracket to the cylinder head.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the engine mount strut bracket bolts to 70 N·m (52 lb ft).

  5. Install the thermostat housing. Refer to Engine Coolant Thermostat Replacement in Engine Cooling.

  6. Object Number: 105883  Size: SH
  7. Install the left engine mount strut to the left engine mount strut bracket. Refer to Engine Mount Strut Replacement .

Engine Mount Strut Bracket Replacement Right Side

Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the battery ground (negative) cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection in Engine Electrical.

  2. Object Number: 105887  Size: SH
  3. Remove the right engine mount strut from the right engine mount strut bracket. Refer to Engine Mount Strut Replacement .

  4. Object Number: 190592  Size: SH
  5. Remove the engine oil cooler coolant line bracket bolt. Refer to Oil Cooler Hose/Pipe Replacement .
  6. Remove the engine wiring harness bracket bolt.
  7. Remove the air conditioning compressor mounting bolts and set the compressor aside. Refer to Compressor Replacement in HVAC Systems - Manual.

  8. Object Number: 155767  Size: SH
  9. Remove the vertical engine mount strut bracket bolt from the right engine mount strut bracket.
  10. Remove the lower engine mount strut bracket bolt from the right engine mount strut bracket.
  11. Remove the right engine mount strut bracket.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 155767  Size: SH
  1. Position the right engine mount strut bracket over the pin locator.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the lower engine mount strut bracket bolt through the right engine mount strut bracket into the cylinder block.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the engine mount strut bracket bolt to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).

  5. Install the vertical engine mount strut bracket bolt through the right engine mount strut bracket to the cylinder head.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the engine mount strut bracket bolt to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).

  7. Install the air conditioning compressor. Refer to Compressor Replacement in HVAC Systems - Manual.
  8. Install the engine wiring harness bracket bolt.
  9. Tighten
    Tighten the engine wiring harness bracket bolt to 13 N·m (110 lb in).

  10. Install the engine oil cooler coolant line bracket bolt. Refer to Oil Cooler Hose/Pipe Replacement .

  11. Object Number: 105887  Size: SH
  12. Install the right engine mount strut to the right engine mount strut bracket. Refer to Engine Mount Strut Replacement .
  13. Connect the battery ground (negative) cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection in Engine Electrical.
